Obama Declares War on America's Gun Owners

President Obama’s nomination of Sonia Sotomayor may as well have been a declaration of war against American gun owners. In a well articulated Fox News article, columnist Ken Blackwell questions the ramifications, to American gun owners, of Sotomayor's nomination: “According to Judge Sotomayor, if your state or city bans all guns the way Washington, D.C. did, that's okay under the Constitution.”
Since the Bill of Rights only pertains to the federal government, can the Second Amendment be incorporated to the states? Not according to Sotomayor, who issued an opinion in the case of Maloney v. Cuomo, stating that each state is allowed to decide whether or not it can ban guns. This is just one, of many cases, that is being heard over this issue - and when this issue again reaches the Supreme Court, we already know how the “radically anti-Second Amendment” Sotomayor will vote.
The National Rifle Association is fighting for second amendment incorporation, but more action needs to be taken quickly before a ban on all guns becomes the new “law of the land.” Never underestimate the collective power of gun-owning voters!
