Pete Sessions Applauds Passage of Small Business Tax Cut Act

I released the following statement regarding the passage of the Small Business Tax Cut Act of 2012, legislation that would provide a 20% tax deduction for small businesses with fewer than 500 employees:

Small businesses are the engine of American job creation, and their success is critical to our nation’s much-needed recovery in the Obama economy. In a sharp contrast from the Administration’s push to raise taxes on hardworking Americans with gimmicks like the ‘Buffett Rule,’ House Republicans voted today to provide tax relief for small businesses so they can grow their capital, invest and hire more workers.

The Administration and Congressional Democrats’ agenda solely focuses on growing government – not the economy – and leaves struggling small businesses waiting on the sidelines. To get Americans working again and to spur economic growth, we must create an environment that empowers entrepreneurship and innovation. That is why I will continue to fight for pro-growth solutions to assist our nation’s job creators and to ensure that all Americans have the opportunity to achieve the American Dream.
