‘ABORTION IN GOOD FAITH’ a Brutal Attack Ad

Children too are a gift of the Lord, the fruit of the womb, a reward.
Psalm 127-3

A full page ad ran in the San Antonio Express News on September 7, 2016 on page A7.  It was paid for by Catholics for Choice.  A note at the bottom read, ‘Public funding for abortion is a Catholic social justice value’.  NOT TRUE!  The words Catholics and (Pro) Choice do not belong together; in fact they contradict each other.   These misguided so called ‘Catholics’ seeking ‘justice and equality’ do not represent or speak for the Roman Catholic Church.  Abortion has always been immoral in the Catholic Church and the Church will continue to stand firm that life begins at conception and ends at natural death.  Pope Francis in his visit to Poland said, “Life must always be welcomed and protected…from conception to natural death. All of us are called to respect life and care for it."

Apparently, these ads ran in three major newspapers in Texas:  Houston Chronicle, Dallas Morning News and San Antonio Express News.   In an effort to confuse the already chaotic November election, could it be that the abortion propaganda killing machine is digging its talons in areas where there is a heavy population of Catholics and evangelicals?  We shouldn’t be so naïve as to believe that an ad costing thousands of dollars just before the presidential election is not meant to sway pro-choice votes in November.

Gloria Romero Roses was used in the San Antonio ad.  She is a Democrat that ran for office in Florida and even though she claims to be Catholic, would rather promote the Democratic agenda of abortion.

‘Abortion in Good Faith’ would very much like for you to believe that killing the unborn is justifiable to give the mother ‘freedom’ and ‘equality’.  We all know that murdering an innocent life can never be justified. There is one sure way to prevent pregnancy:  it’s that archaic entity called abstinence!  Of course there are other options; adoption is the most loving path for the child and the mother in an unwanted pregnancy.  Pregnancy Centers are an excellent place to care for the needs of the mother and her baby.

Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller gave an excellent response posted on the San Antonio Archdiocese website.
An organization called Catholics for Choice placed a full-page advertisement in the Sept. 12 edition of the San Antonio Express-News with inaccurate information which must be corrected, since it misrepresents the truth and what the Catholic Church believes and teaches.

This misrepresentation is demonstrated by their statement that “Public funding for abortion is a Catholic social justice value.” Nothing could be further from the truth.

Before responding to claims made by Catholics for Choice in “Abortion in Good Faith,” it should be noted that this group does not speak for the Catholic Church. The group undertook a similar media campaign in the state of Colorado just two years ago, and the bishops there also responded in reiterating authentic Catholic social teaching and the consistent ethic of life.

For more than 2,000 years, the Church has steadfastly proclaimed that respect for all human life at every stage is foundational to the Catholic faith. Abortion from the earliest tradition of the Church has been considered immoral.

The Catholic Church’s position on abortion is clear. In the magisterial document Donum Vitae (The Gift of Life), the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith affirmed that, “The human being is to be respected and treated as a person from the moment of conception; and therefore from that same moment his rights as a person must be recognized, among which in the first place is the inviolable right of every innocent human being to life,” (Sec I.1) Direct abortion, or the intentional killing of a human being living in the womb, is always seriously immoral because as persons the right-to-life is the most basic and fundamental right we possess.

It is our hope that one day Catholics for Choice will take the time to acquaint themselves with basic Catholic teachings, and acknowledge the truth of the Catholic faith, and not choose to misrepresent her teachings with false and inaccurate information and ads that only work to confuse and mislead the public. Upholding the sacred dignity of all human life is the duty of every member of society and this duty must be taken seriously in order to ensure that we are a part of a culture that affirms the right to life for all, especially the most vulnerable among us.

The other Texas prelates that voiced their opinions were
Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston
Most Rev. Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, Archdiocese of San Antonio
Most Rev. Steven J. Lopes, Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter
Most Rev. Kevin J. Farrell, Diocese of Dallas

Cardinal Dolan, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Prolife Chairman is in full battle with the ‘Catholics for Choice’ abortion advocacy group which is funded by wealthy foundations to promote population control.   We are at war with intrinsic evil; there should be no question about this.   The ads, all published on September 12, were scattered throughout America in major cities.  All Christians should be alarmed that this open act of war on the unborn has taken place in a synchronized and calculating method.  CFC targets minority and low income women, further victimizing them with lies about abortion.

A rebuttal to Cardinal Dolan’s message from Jon O’Brien from CFC is an ugly reminder of how evil never rests.   We cannot let these ads go unnoticed!  Abortion is NOT healthcare; it is murder by taxpayer dollar.

“It should come as no surprise that Cardinal Dolan, chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities, does not like the Abortion in Good Faith Campaign that Catholics for Choice launched this week. For years, the bishops’ lobby in Washington, DC—of which Dolan is a member—has worked against public funding for abortion and against reproductive healthcare options for American people regardless of their faith. Whereas, we believe as Catholics that public funding for abortion is a matter of social justice. We also believe that increasing healthcare choices for all American citizens is critical, as opposed to denying freedom of conscience to women—especially to poor women.”

Pope John Paul II wrote in his Encyclical Letter the ‘Gospel of Life’ (excerpt):

At the same time a new cultural climate is developing and taking hold, which gives crimes against life a new and-if possible-even more sinister character, giving rise to further grave concern: broad sectors of public opinion justify certain crimes against life in the name of the rights of individual freedom, and on this basis they claim not only exemption from punishment but even authorization by the State, so that these things can be done with total freedom and indeed with the free assistance of health-care systems.

I'm sure you are just as curious as I am, if the Express-News would print a full page ad paid for by Catholics for Life or the San Antonio Archdiocese with the truth?  Contributions are needed to counter the full page ad that ran in the Express News.  These ads can cost approximately $14,000.  The San Antonio Family Association is collecting money to have an ad placed in the San Antonio Express News.   Please consider donating by going to this link: https://give.cornerstone.cc/SAFA/  or call 210 928 7232
