Cherie Perez, Republican vs Kristin Hoyt, a Questionable Opponent

Cherie Perez, an innate Republican is seeking the position of Comal County District Clerk. Perez is a very qualified candidate who has been working in the district clerk’s office for 15 years. There is no doubt that she has the experience and knowledge to do the job. In fact, Perez has the support of Kathy Faulkner, the present District Clerk who will be retiring. Perez is the epitome of the ‘perfect’ candidate. She is a hometown girl, dedicated to her family and career. Her story so much resembles the fairy tale girls dream of. Married to her high school sweetheart, Ruben, with two beautiful teenagers attending the same high school she and her husband attended. What could possibly make this the unattainable dream?

Her opponent Kristin Hoyt is competing for the same position. Hoyt is a recent resident with questionable credentials. She showed up in Comal County after her marriage to Matthew Hoyt in May of 2013. She claims to have the experience but falls short of Perez’s knowledge of the intricate complexities of the district clerk’s office.

More bewildering is the fact that her husband Matthew is an ardent Obama supporter, which most certainly does not coincide with the conservative values of the county. A red flag has been raised with this scenario. As you can see her husband Matthew has not only contributed to the most liberal president in the history of the United States but has supported Joaquin Castro in his bid for Congressional District 20 as recent as 2011.

Joaquin is the brother of Mayor Julian Castro of San Antonio. This mayor is making the Obama policies and ideology a reality in his efforts to turn Texas into a Blue state. Battleground Texas is working very hard to penetrate every Texas County.

Hoyt’s sketchy experience is not enough to qualify her for a position that requires accountability and responsibility to the people of Comal County. It seems to me that before citizens in the county cast a vote for someone who has ties to the Obama Administration and the Castro Brothers, we must examine whether we want to risk that our beloved county plunge into the liberal abyss that our large Texas cities are experiencing. It would be a devastating blow to the county to have Battleground Texas’ foot in the door. Comal County must be a beacon of hope for all the surrounding counties.

Let’s show our support for Cherie Perez, the most qualified candidate, by voting for her in the Republican primary, March 4. Let’s help Cherie attain the American Dream. Comal County we can do this!
