SA Reporter BRIAN CHASNOFF takes on WESTON MARTINEZ’S MOM

In a ridiculous turn of events…Express News Metro Columnist, Brian Chasnoff is chiding Weston Martinez’ mother, M.J. Smoot, for displaying a ‘meme’ of soiled boots on her facebook page, which in essence was meant to express how she felt about Chasnoff’s article, Candidate trying to ride the mayor into City Hall, published in the Express News on May 1st. MJ of course was only trying to defend her son, Weston, who is running for San Antonio District 9 on the city council. Interesting that Chasnoff, exerted so much energy trying to knock down Martinez’ mom.

For those of you that did not take the time to read the article dated May 3rd, Put on your boots and wade into this, Chasnoff dedicated it to his ‘meme’ created by MJ. The article certainly deserves mention simply because MJ is not running for city council but was only expressing her displeasure with Chasnoff’s rant referring to the May 1st article. These articles just show how desperate and how extremely small minded and meaningless the liberal media has become. It also indicates a shortage of ‘topics’ to write about. It seems Chasnoff has a contract with Express News to write about something, anything and MJ became his target for the May 3rd article. I write this because in an article, Madcap Night at the Cornyation, written by Chasnoff on April 24, 2014, he mentions how he has a contractual obligation to the Express News and his articles don’t have to follow traditional rules of ‘good sense’. So there you have it folks, in Chasnoff’s own written words, his articles don’t have to make ‘good sense’.

Contractually, I'm obligated by my employer to write a column today. There is nothing in the fine print about floating supine for hours, mouth open, in a bath of coconut water to hydrate and cleanse myself after the first night of performing in Cornyation; I checked.

There's also nothing in the fine print about following traditional rules of grammar, sentence structure or good sense in writing the required column.

I contacted MJ and this is what she had to say about the ‘meme’ incident.

The meme was my view. I thought it was funny in using a clever South Texas quip.

Brian wrote in his article "True, I've been giving Smoot's son a lot of effluent lately in my columns.”

I ask you what mother would not come to her son's defense. I never expect a positive write up on conservative people or issues, especially from an opinion columnist and liberal newspaper.

Election Day is May 10th, Sunday following is Mother's Day. I am asking all moms, to go to the polls and stand with me and support Weston.
