Republicans Add to Their historic Majority with Martha McSally Win
National Republican Congressional Committee – Today, House Republicans added to their historic majority following the announcement that Martha McSally has defeated incumbent Democrat Ron Barber after an official recount in Arizona’s 2nd District. With her victory, House Republicans now have 247 seats going into the 114th Congress which is the largest majority since 1928. NRCC Chairman Greg Walden issued the following statement on McSally’s victory in Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District.
“Martha McSally has broken barriers her entire life, and I know she will continue to fight for the issues she is passionate about in Washington," said NRCC Chairman Greg Walden. "From growing jobs to securing our border, Martha will be an effective and common-sense representative for Southern Arizona.”
