Do Americans really need a 'Wall'?
Why are walls or fences constructed, you might ask. As a property owner in the Texas Hill County it's obvious that if you have cattle, a fence is the best way to keep them from wondering off. A fence is also a good idea to keep strangers off your land. In fact, our fence has barbed wire as do all my neighbors.
I remember back when anyone could enter any Catholic church at any time to pray. This stopped when priests began to be attacked and property destroyed. Today I attend a church that has walls and a security fence. A fence can keep vandals from ransacking and destroying property.
As an American, as a proud Texan, it disturbs me as it should every patriot that we have witnessed the U.S. Senate abandon its responsibility to its constituents and embrace the illegal immigrant.
Never, in all the time that I've been writing, have I ever entertained such a far-fetched thought. But here we are...the government being shut down because of a $5 billion request made by the sitting president of these United States. A president who puts America first, a president who wants to keep our country safe and secure for ALL Americans.
This is what President Trump tweeted on December 23, 2018 “The most important way to stop gangs, drugs, human trafficking and massive crime is at our Southern Border. We need Border Security, and as EVERYONE knows, you can’t have Border Security without a Wall. The Drones & Technology are just bells and whistles. Safety for America!”
The remarks that followed after President Donald Trump’s request by Senator Chuck Schumer (D) from the Senate floor were un-American and reflected a disdain for not only President Trump but the American People. He cares little for the safety of Americans or the Rule of law. Schumer on the Senate Floor declared loud and clear "YOU ARE NOT GETTING YOUR WALL NOT TODAY NOT NEXT WEEK NOT JANUARY 3RD."
Texas US Senator Ted Cruz tweeted as early as April 2017 that drug cartel kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman's assets could help pay for the border wall. There are other ways to fund the wall. Stop giving Planned Parenthood money ($530 million) to help murder the unborn. Be diligent in what countries we subsidize. The USA’s Foreign Aid to El Salvador $118 million, Guatemala $257 million, Honduras $181 million and Mexico $290 million. And to Canada $35 million. The Arab World receives Foreign Aid also: Egypt $1.5 billion, Yemen $595 million, and Kuwait $4.5 million. Afghanistan receives $5.7 billion. It seems that so many countries have their hand out wanting our money. These are just a few countries that receive foreign aid from us. So why can’t America have $5 billion to protect its southern border?
Our Senators know all this better than the average American and still no promise or hint of a wall.
