Farenthold Offers Condolences, Assistance to Family of ISIS Terror Attack Victim

Yesterday I spoke to the brother of Gail Minglana Martinez, who died due to injuries sustained during the terrorist attack in Brussels last week.

My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to the family of Mrs. Martinez, whose life was tragically cut short by the ISIS terror attack in Brussels. I ask that everyone offer their prayers and support to the Martinez family as they work through the pain and suffering that this horrific event has caused, and respect their privacy at this time. In our battle against ISIS, we must focus on making sure innocent people are not harmed, while the strategy of ISIS is to kill innocent people. I call on President Obama to deliver a comprehensive strategy to defeat ISIS, root out terror, and ensure that no other family will have to bear a similar tragedy.

Gail Minglana Martinez, 41, was a native of Corpus Christi. Her husband, Kato, is an officer in the United States Air Force currently stationed in Europe. Her husband and four children remain hospitalized from their injuries. I have offered my support to the family in their time of need.
