Highlighting the Importance of Cybersecurity Amidst Increased CCP Attacks

During my tenure as chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, I passed two crucial measures into law — the Cyber Information Sharing Act and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Act — to ensure our nation was prepared to face and combat cyber attacks.

Since then, the cyber threats facing the U.S. have only grown; in recent years, the Chinese Communist Party has repeatedly attempted to hack into our sensitive networks and disrupt U.S. infrastructure.

At this week's committee hearing, I spoke with Acting CISA Director Dr. Gottumukkala about the status of CISA and the urgent need for Congress to reauthorize the cybersecurity capabilities I championed all those years ago. Click here to watch our exhange.
