Statement On The Unemployment Rate For March

I recently released the following statement regarding the U.S. job numbers and unemployment rate for March, which remains unchanged at 9.7 percent:

Today’s disappointing job numbers are further evidence of misplaced priorities by the White House. While the administration has pushed a largely ineffective and expensive stimulus bill, small business owners across Texas now fear that higher taxes and costs in the health care bill are only the opening skirmishes in the fight for their big government agenda, and stressed that similar job-killing policies will keep economic growth and job creation on the sidelines. President Obama and Democrat leaders should get their priorities straight and make economic growth and job creation easier, not harder, by embracing common-sense pro-growth policies.
