Voice of the Conservative Vote: James White

Representative James White is honored and humbled to give back to the people of East Texas through his service to District 12. He is committed to ensuring the people of Angelina, San Jacinto, Trinity, and Tyler counties are well represented in their state legislature. James serves on the House Committee on County Affairs and the House Committee on Corrections. James is a passionate and effective advocate for the fundamental values of strong families, limited government, lower taxes, and economic development. He puts those values into practice as a member of the Republican Caucus, the Tea Party Caucus, the Legislative Black Caucus, the Rural Caucus, the Manufacturing Caucus, and the Texas Conservative Coalition.
James grew up in Houston where he attended public schools. He graduated with honors from Prairie View A&M University with a degree in political science and military science. The United States Congress commissioned James as an officer of Infantry in the U.S. Army, where he served his country in assignments throughout the world, most notably from 1987-90 in the Berlin Brigade.
James is proud to call Tyler County home, where he maintains a small cattle ranch and is completing doctoral studies in political science at the University of Houston. He has taught American government and free enterprise economics and coached football and basketball at Woodville High School. Additionally, James has taught government at Angelina College in Lufkin.
James is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and the Texas Farm Bureau, and he worships at Hillister Baptist Church in Hillister.
