New York Times Newest Editorial Board Hire says “white men are bullshit,” and receives “joy out of being cruel to old white men”

The New York Times’ recent editorial hire Sarah Jeong has a history of racist tweets against white people.
Shortly after the NYT announced that they hired Jeong to their editorial board on Wednesday, twitter users exposed these now deleted tweets:
It’s up to the reader to determine whether Jeong’s tweets are a poor attempt at racial satire, or if she genuinely thinks “white men are bullshit,” and receives “joy out of being cruel to old white men.” Regardless, it’s hard to imagine the NYT would employ her if in any of these tweets the word “White” was replaced with “Black”, “Hispanic,” “Muslim,” “Gay,” “Lesbian,” or “Transgender”.
In fact, the NYT did fire Quinn Norton once it learned about her tweets that used a slur against gay people and revealed her friendship with a white supremacist. (She also retweeted a tweet that used the n-word)
What will NYT do now? Will they condemn all forms of racist hate speech and fire Jeong, or do they accept this type of rhetoric coming from people who represent their company, as long as it’s only against white people?
Here is the NYT's response:
