IRS Refuses to Cooperate With Republicans

In May I joined more than 50 of my colleagues in sending a letter to the IRS to ask them to review the Clinton Foundation’s tax-exempt status after recent reports that the foundation failed to report millions of dollars in grants from foreign governments while Mrs. Clinton was serving as the United States Secretary of State. These reports alleged that the Clinton Foundation was operating under the guise of philanthropy while facilitating major private business transactions between foreign entities. I believe this is a serious issue that needs to be thoroughly examined to uncover whether or not the Foundation violated the qualifications for their tax-exempt status.

On Thursday the IRS responded to our request with a form letter that signaled that they have no interest in getting to the bottom of this. It comes as no surprise since the IRS has repeatedly violated the trust of American taxpayers and acted with no sense of transparency. I will not stand by and let the IRS walk all over the American people while they protect lawless liberals who continue to break the rules that apply to everyone else. I remain committed to fighting against the IRS and supporting measures to make sure they are doing their due diligence in investigating this situation.
