Pete Stark (D-CA): The Federal Government Has Few Constitutional Limits
A constituent at a July 24th town hall meeting held by Congressman Pete Stark (D-CA) brought up some excellent questions about the Constitutionality of the health care reform bill.
She explained that health care is not a right because in order to get health care services, those services must be rendered by somebody else using their time, their energy, their knowledge, their labor. So if health care is a right, we necessarily have the right to compel others to provide those services or pay for them fo us. All Pete Stark had to say was "I think there are very few Constitutional limits that would prevent the federal government from rules that could affect your private life."

Just a month prior, Congressman Pete Stark mocked a member of the Minutemen when he inquired about our porous border.
Congressman Stark has even told an interviewer to go jump out a window!
