Cornyn Introduces Resolution to Honor Hispanic Heritage Month
Today I announced my introduction of a Senate resolution recognizing September 15 – October 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month:
Texas and America are made better every day because of the contributions of Hispanic-Americans. As the representative of more than 11 million Hispanic-Americans in Texas, I’m proud to honor Hispanic Heritage Month for the twelfth year in a row.
Last week, I introduced a resolution recognizing National Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week in honor of the roughly 96 HSIs in Texas. I have led both resolutions each of the past 12 years. I am also author of the National Museum of the American Latino Act, which would authorize the Smithsonian Institution to create a museum honoring American Latinos.
