House Resolution to Authorize a Lawsuit Against the President

At the beginning of this Congress, I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. This week the House of Representatives took an important step in fulfilling our oath when we passed the House Resolution that I authored to authorize a lawsuit against President Obama for failing to faithfully execute the law. Sen. Cruz Co-Sponsors Bill to Ban Bulk Record Collection

Issues:

Republicans and Democrats are showing America that the government can respect the privacy rights of law-abiding citizens, while at the same time, giving law enforcement the tools needed to target terrorists.

The USA FREEDOM Act of 2014 ends the government’s bulk record collection program and implements other necessary surveillance reforms. Importantly, it also sends a strong signal that a bipartisan coalition in Congress is working to safeguard our privacy rights. I am honored to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle toward delivering this bill to the President’s desk for his signature. We need to protect the constitutional rights of every American. Read more about Sen. Cruz Co-Sponsors Bill to Ban Bulk Record Collection

Russia Has Violated the INF Treaty

Issues:

The State Department has finally found Russia to be in violation of the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF), something many of us have known for many months. The Russians violated the INF treaty by testing a ground-launched cruise missile that is within the prohibited range of the treaty. I’d like the State Department to be candid about how serious

Senate Passes Cruz Bill to Pursue Justice for US Teen Murdered in Israel

The Senate has sent a unified message to the world: we will not rest until the Hamas terrorists responsible for the horrific murder of Naftali Fraenkel are found and justice is served. Two Israeli teens, Gilad Shaer and Eyal Yifrach, were also murdered in the attack. We cannot bring our bright young Israeli-American boy back to his family, but we can take action to ensure every terrorist knows that when they harm an American citizen,

July Republican Party of Texas Chairman’s Update

Issues:

Knocking on doors, calling, mailings, etc. were the order of business in July as our Victory operations kicked into high gear, working alongside the Abbott for Governor team as well as numerous other candidates. Field staff organized volunteers around the state to contact respective voters every day since the state convention last month. Under my chairmanship the RPT has made millions of phone calls to voters and mailed millions of pieces of mail. Most of this was done during the last two months of prior campaign seasons. While we still plan similar efforts down

Pete Sessions Statement on July Jobs Report

Issues:

Today I released the following statement regarding the July unemployment report:

While it is always welcome news when additional Americans are able to find work, all Americans deserve the opportunity to find good-paying, full-time jobs. The Obama Administration has repeatedly promised a big economic recovery, but it has taken six years to see any real signs of reliable

If you can’t beat ‘em, tax ‘em

Barack Obama will make green energy successful, no matter what it costs…the American taxpayer.

Perhaps the WTO will bail us out, as this video suggests: Read more about If you can’t beat ‘em, tax ‘em

Strategic Technology Development Can Help Secure U.S. Border

Issues:

The House Subcommittee on Research and Technology and the House Subcommittee on Oversight today held a joint hearing on the technologies needed to better secure our nation’s borders.

Technology is a key component to securing our 2,000 mile Southern border. Customs and Border Protection and National Guard troops cannot be everywhere. Sensors deployed along the border can detect and track the “coyotes” who smuggle children—as well as illegal drugs

Tony Geldens: Dutch Resistance Fighter, American Patriot

Issues:

Tony Geldens was a Dutch boy when on May 10, 1940; the Nazis invaded and occupied the Netherlands. Persecution of the Jews began immediately by the occupiers. Jews were required to wear yellow stars of David on their clothing. Jews were shot, beat, and sent to concentration camps.

Tony and a few of his Boy Scout friends joined the Dutch resistance. Tony began a 4-year career of being the Robin Hood of the Netherlands. He would steal supplies and food from the Nazis and give them to local Jews and citizens, much to the risk of his own safety.
