Daniel Chavez: U.S. Representative Candidate (TX-28)

The 28th Congressional District of Texas covers a great stretch of land in South Texas. The district includes twelve counties from Southeast San Antonio to the U.S./Mexico border. Our district contains a vast wealth of natural resources including oil and gas, ranching, farming and manufacturing. It has a rich diversity of cultures and is home to many proud conservative Americans.

With a proven record of following party lines in 2009, Mr. Cuellar has shown that his “Blue Dog” designation is null and void. Our country has experienced the greatest increase in deficit spending history and Mr. Cuellar has added to it by passing legislation which will increase this it greatly. His actions in voting for these legislative bills have weakened the financial livelihood of his constituents in these harsh economic times. His actions have proven that Mr. Cuellar cannot be trusted to make sensible fiscal decisions. He has exhibited a solid disconnect from the voters of District 28. I feel he must be removed from the congressional seat because he has repeatedly ignored and discounted the voters of his district over the past year. In addition, I believe that Mr. Cuellar is supporting an administration which is leading our country toward a socialist state. He has lost touch with the People of the District and of America.

My experience in work and life has led me to this crossroads. I have a great love for my God, family and country. My experience in managing large projects over the past twenty years has established my credibility with administrative, people and negotiation skills. If elected, I will take my oath serious to uphold and defend the Constitution; it will be my guide for legislation brought before the House. As a man devoted to helping others and watching over my neighbors, I will always make myself accessible to the constituents of the district. I will be a servant of the people and will work hard to restore the trust of the District constituents. Scott Brown reiterated what we, conservatives, believe: this congressional seat belongs to the people, not any political party, lobbyist or special interest group. Far too many brave men and women have paid the ultimate price for the freedom and liberties we now enjoy. I will work to ensure they did not die in vain.
