Congressman Tony Gonzales Announces $3.4 Million in HHS Grants for Head Start Program in Carrizo Springs

On monday, I announced over $3.4 million in grant money from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for Head Start Projects in Texas’s 23^rd District.The grant will be awarded to Kids Are First, Inc. in Carrizo Springs for $3,450,405. I previously served as the Community Representative for the City of San Antonio Head Start Policy Council from 2018 – 2019.

Head Start Programs provide vital services to many of our local families through child care, nutritional programs, sponsored meals and many other initiatives. I am thrilled to see HHS invest significant funds into Kids Are First and Head Start programs as a whole.
