Dear GOP

As I see it, the Party has failed miserably at upholding the values that attracted me to it. From the precinct to the Senate, there is a vacuum of principled leadership. Those that are there now have been eager to negotiate our values away, with alliances with our enemies, in return for favors for them, but nothing for those of us who put them in office. Although Republicans are now in control of both houses of Congress, our leaders fail to stop Obama's progressive assault, acquiescing to and agreeing with his demands, groveling for the praise of the press and pop culture, rather than seeking the approval from the "One with Whom we have to do"(Hebrews 4:13 – “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do”.)

Locally, Paul Simpson, the current Party chairman, is never seen in the press upholding our Party's values, as the former chairman, Jared Woodfill, did. When the Supreme Court betrayed us, by deciding that Gay "marriage" was the law of the land, why did no one from the local Party decry this betrayal, citing the failure of the Obama administration and his complicit department of “justice” in ignoring the DOMA laws already on the books?

When the abortion videos surfaced, revealing that Planned Parenthood was selling human baby body parts, why did no one from the local Party come out, standing in front of Planned Parenthood, exposing their murderous, greedy, agenda?

When Deputy Goforth was assassinated, why did no one from the Party appear in the local press decrying the “Black Lives matter” hate filled speech, and exposing the Democrat's divisive rhetoric as a cheap ploy to fire up the racist elements of their base at the expense of an innocent public servant’s life?

I’m just saying that we are sorely missing some great opportunities to get our message out, in stark contrast to the darkness of the Enemy. Of course, the answer to my rhetorical questions is that we have no leadership at the local Party level that has the conviction to stand up and tell the world that “in contrast to these events, we as Republicans believe…..”, the values at the core of the Party.

All these things serve to dishearten the man or woman who believes in judgment, equity, the rule of law, and the precepts of Scripture. We go to great lengths, creating and ratifying the Party platform, which we as Republicans say we believe, but can’t find any of our elected “conservative” leaders to uphold these values in public or in policy.

I grew to realize that all of the “politicking” in the world would not solve the problems at the heart of the nation's difficulties, especially when our local and national leaders, refuse to take stands that are unpopular with the current media and pop culture. I came to realize that no political Band-Aid will fix our country. The only hope we can have, is for God to grant repentance and change our hearts, so the things that are important to Him, will become the things that are important to us.

I can't do this through the tool of political activism; and I found many within the Party who were willing to talk about doing the right thing, but extremely few who would stand up for those convictions, in the face of opposition. Sadly, many are more concerned for their positions or future positions, than they are for doing the right thing today.

The grass roots conservative want someone to fight for them, to listen to them, to stand up for what they know to be right, regardless of whether the press or popular culture agree or not. They are so hungry for someone with backbone, that they are willing to overlook Trump's liberal leanings and past record for the hope that they may find someone who will “finally stand up” to the many forces that oppose our sensibilities. People admire him for that; they long for someone who will champion the causes that are important to them, and many feel that the Republican establishment has had ample opportunity to do something, and for whatever reason has failed to take any effective action. The Republicans to date have refused to do anything about Obamacare, lost the battle regarding Gay “marriage”, the economy is in a shambles, with 94 million people out of work, the chamber of commerce types have purchased silence and amnesty regarding the massive illegal immigrant invasion that threatens to destroy our nation, we suffer one defeat after another on an almost daily basis as Obama, the democrats, and complicit Republicans figure out how to implement their destructive, Godless agenda, even though “We the people” have majorities in both houses of Congress.

Is there any wonder why the grass roots Republicans are dispirited?
