Rep. Troy E. Nehls Visits East Palestine Train Derailment Site

Congressman Troy E. Nehls (R-TX-22), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials for the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, released a statement following his visit to the Norfolk Southern train derailment site in East Palestine, Ohio:

 “I visited East Palestine, Ohio to meet with local leaders and see the status of the Norfolk Southern train derailment and recovery efforts firsthand,” said Congressman Troy E. Nehls. “What’s clear is there is a lot of work to do. I thank the first responders and personnel on site for all their efforts thus far. I will work in a bipartisan effort to ensure our freight rail system is as safe as possible and prevent tragedies like this from occurring again. There will be a bipartisan briefing from the NTSB today on the derailment, and I encourage all members of the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee to attend.”
