Saving Freedom: It's About Jobs, Stupid!

Eric Cantor (R-VA) started off this session saying,

"In matters of style, swim with the tide, in matters of principles, stand like a rock."

Cantor stated that most federal employees are protected by unions and most union workers work for the government. Their average salary is over $100 thousand! Is this really America's future? If we're going to save freedom, we must save private sector jobs. Cantor explained that if we want to lower this budget, we have got the grow the economy, and to do that we must lower taxes. A smaller Washington will result in a bigger America.

Mark Mix from National Right to Work then mentioned that it cost about $4 million to get Obama to the White House, and the unions expect to get paid back for that!

Ken Cuccinelli, Virginia's Attorney General, was next to speak. "Freedom works," he started off by saying. Too many people are growing the government, and it just gets in the way. Cuccinelli just filed to block the EPA's endangerment finding of carbon emissions. He explained that this administration's balance is out of whack. They're out to destroy so many jobs for no environmental benefit. For example, the very hotel that CPAC is being held in would have to get a permit from the EPA at a cost of $120 thousand, and that is only IF they get a permit. What if they don't grant the permit?

Cuccinelli said the founding fathers got it. The principles of 1776 are timeless. That means they apply as much in 2010 as they did in 1776.

Cuccineliis went on to say that the administration should solve problems by shrinking the power of government. Freedom will always be threatened by a growing government. We must retake ground. We have been living on the credit card of our grandchildren for a long time now, and we must snap that credit card! If you don't like the influence of corporations, don't attack them, shrink the government. Every dollar spent, ultimately comes from the private sector, except now it's being paid by Communist China.

Larry Eastland, PhD, LEA Capital Advisors, was next to speak. He said that this administration thinks that simply because they control the printing press that prints dollar signs on paper, they're cresting wealth, but really they're just recycling paper.

Eastland explained that the federal government is the largest employer. The state and local government is the second largest employer. And an unemployment check is the third largest employer!

We have an aging population at the top end and an absolutely flat population at the low end, this means America has a shortage of labor. So unless the elderly are wiped out or people start giving birth to 21-yr-old college graduates, we're going to need to do something!

He closed by saying,

1. Washington gridlock is good thing!
2. The First instinct of Washington is to do something. Leave the economy alone, it will work itself out!
3. Stop passing laws to tell me what to do, you're not my mother!
4. The administration is using yesterday's data to make today's decisions, they never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity!
