Rep. Tony Gonzales Issues Statement on Recent Illegal Crossings in Eagle Pass

Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) issued the below statement on the recent surge of illegal crossings in Eagle Pass.

“Under Joe Biden, more than 8 million migrants have crossed illegally into the United States. Recently, hundreds more came in through Eagle Pass. The fact these caravans continue is an embarrassment to the rule of law and a reflection of Washington’s dysfunction. For the sake of our national security, Congress and the White House must put politics aside and secure our border. We know the solutions—close asylum loopholes and deport the vast majority of those who don’t qualify as refugees. Only then will our laws be taken seriously,” said Congressman Tony Gonzales.
