Top Primary Races to Watch Tonight

Senate and Gubernatorial Races:
California: Meg Whitman, former CEO at eBay, is squaring off against Steve Poizner, who is currently California’s insurance commissioner, for the Republican gubernatorial nomination. According to Real Clear Politics,Whitman leds Poizner 2:1. Also in California, former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina is facing off against former Rep. Tom Campbell and state assemblyman Chuck DeVore for the Republican Senate nomination. The nominee will run against Sen. Barbara Boxer later this year.
Nevada: Sharron Angle a former state Assemblywoman will be up against GOP chairwoman Sue Lowden and Danny Tarkanian for the Republican Senate nomination. The winner of today’s primary will take on Harry Reid in November. Also in Nevada, incumbent Gov. Jim Gibbons trails federal court Judge Brian Sandoval in the running for the Republican Gubernatorial nomination.
South Carolina: Rep. Nikki Haley, Rep. Gresham Barrett, Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer, and Attorney General Henry McMaster are seeking the Republican gubernatorial nomination. Haley has been accused of having affairs with several men. She strongly denies all allegations.
Arkansas: Sen. Blanche Lincoln’s job is on the line as she faces off against Lt. Gov. Bill Halter for Democratic Senate nomination. Latest polls hint at a close race. The two were forced into a runoff for the party nomination after neither captured 50 percent of the vote in the May 18 primary.
South Carolina D. 1: Republican primary: Paul Thurmond vs. Carroll Campbell III vs. Tim Scott
Virginia D. 5: Republican primary: Robert Hurt vs. Ken Boyd vs. Michael McPadden
Georgia D. 9: Special election runoff: Tom Graves vs. Lee Hawkins
California D. 36: Democratic primary: Rep. Jane Harman vs. Marcy Winograd
Virginia D. 2: Republican primary: Scott Rigell vs. Bert Mizusawa vs. Ben Loyola
South Carolina D. 4: Republican primary: Rep. Bob Inglis vs. Trey Gowdy
