Ronald Reagan often pointed out that the best politics is good policy. With congressional elections less than seven months away, and a presidential vote looming just behind, it's time for Republicans to settle on just what good policy is.

So here's a thought experiment: If you could wave a magic wand and produce policy changes that would achieve just one goal – the goal with the most positive political impact -- what would that goal be? Appropriations Begins

This week, we’ll begin voting on the first of the 12 annual appropriations bills on the House floor. If you think of the federal budget as the blueprint for how we spend money—how much will go towards defense, how much will go towards veterans assistance, and so on—then the appropriations bills are like the individual checks that fund each government department and all of their programs.

Toyota to Move U.S. Sales Office from California to Texas

Governor Rick Perry can add another victory to the gamut, as automotive giant Toyota Motor Corp. is said to be moving substantial parts of its U.S. headquarters from Torrance, California to Dallas, Texas to seek lower operating costs.
