Senator Cruz Challenges Chairman Menendez on Forming Benghazi Committee

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) challenged Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) to provide unanimous consent to pass his resolution calling for a Joint Select Committee to investigate the Benghazi attacks. Cruz currently has twenty-five Senate co-sponsors for his bill. Menendez blocked Cruzs bill calling it a “political trick” and a “purely political witch-hunt without merit.” Read more about Senator Cruz Challenges Chairman Menendez on Forming Benghazi Committee

Guest Worker Visas Can Halt Illegal Immigration

The following was written by Alex Nowrasteh of the Cato Institute:

There is a trade off between the number of lower skilled guest worker visas and the number of unauthorized immigrants. More lower skilled guest workers means fewer unauthorized immigrants. Fewer guest workers mean more unauthorized immigrants. We just have to look back to the Bracero program to see this relationship. Read more about Guest Worker Visas Can Halt Illegal Immigration

Protecting Taxpayers from IRS Targeting

Last week, I joined Senator Ted Cruz to introduce legislation that would amend the tax code so that the IRS no longer creates its own definitions to determine whether an organization is engaging in political activity. H.R. 4593 and S.2067 address a proposed rule by the IRS that would redefine public service activities by civic organizations as political campaign intervention.

In a March hearing I held looking at the Palestinian Prisoner

Obamanomics, Crony Capitalism and Income Inequality

Spotlight on HD 132 Runoff: Interview With Ann Hodge-Part 2

As you know, Republican State Representative Bill Callegari resigned his seat at the close of the last legislative session; you know the one with a record three special sessions? Mother's Day Message from Attorney General Greg Abbott

Issues:

The following is a Mother's Day message from Attorney General Greg Abbott:

Son, husband, father. More than any title I may ever earn, these matter so much more to me.

Because of my mother, Doris, I learned that with hard work and perseverance, life’s challenges can be overcome.

After my dad died during my sophomore year of high school in Duncanville, my mom went to work to make ends meet. She started as a secretary and receptionist at a local real estate office. Read more about Mother's Day Message from Attorney General Greg Abbott
