And They Say We Are Crazy!

Issues:

Tea Party ProtestScott Rasmussen reported that 51% of voters view radical Muslim as our biggest threat, but only 13% of voters view the Tea Party as the biggest threat to United States. However, only 29% of Obama supporters view radical Muslims as a threat, while 22% of them view Tea Party as the largest threat. Those who are Obama’s strongest supporters actually view the Tea Party as a bigger threat than radical Islam. Read more about And They Say We Are Crazy!

Straus Publicly Attacks Gov. Perry and Supports Pro-Abortion Wendy Davis

Texas Speaker of the House Joe Straus has attacked Pro-Life Governor Rick Perry and defended pro-abortion State Senator Wendy Davis.

After the filibuster from Wendy Davis and the unruly mob that shut down the Texas State Senate, you would think that any pro-life leader in Texas would criticize either Davis or the mob. Not Joe Straus. Joe Straus criticized Governor Perry simply because Governor Perry gave a compliment to Wendy Davis and then tied the compliment into a very reasonable, fair point about Wendy Davis. There was nothing out of line said, and certainly nothing that would warrant the Speaker having a public opinion about it and attacking Governor Perry.

Controversial HYR Ad asks, "Are you tired of the Mob?"

Issues:

Protesters tweetThe Houston Young Republicans (HYR) have produced an ad criticizing what it calls “the Mob,” referring to the leftwing extremists who prevented a vote from taking place on pivotal legislation which would cap abortions in Texas at 20 weeks, and require hygienic improvements at facilities that administer abortions. So Which Child Shouldn't Be There?

Issues:

Senator Wendy Davis, which kid on the playground you see shouldn’t be there? - Laura Ingraham

One can use twitter to get to the heart of the issue, and Laura Ingraham certainly did that with this cutting comment about Texas State Senator Wendy Davis who led a filibuster against late term abortions. Let's begin with three babies: the first baby survives a premature birth and is treated in NICU,

Will SB 5 have a Fairy Tale Ending?

Issues:

Hanging by a thread. By the skin of your teeth. These are phrases one might use when you just barely get something you want or you don't get what you want, but just by a little bit. I think it could go either way in this case, depending on what side of the issue you're on. If you live in the great state of Texas, you know that I'm talking about the near passage/failure of SB 5, a sweeping pro-life bill that the notorious Democrat Wendy Davis nearly filibustered to death. She was stopped only long enough to have it voted on and passed, but just minutes after the midnight deadline.

Cornyn, McConnell Express Concern Over Administration Pressure On Sports Groups to Promote Obamacare

WASHINGTON– U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) and Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) sent letters to the heads of the six major professional sports organizations expressing concern that they would agree to help the Obama administration promote new health insurance plans under Obamacare.

The letters were prompted by recent news reports that Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius was in talks with the NFL and other sports organizations in an effort

Offshore Energy and Jobs Act of 2013 Passes the House

Issues:

This week, House Republicans advanced a part of our all-of-the-above energy plan to help create jobs and boost our nation’s energy security. The Offshore Energy and Jobs Act of 2013 (H.R. 2231), which passed the House today, would increase energy production by unlocking our nation’s most resource-rich offshore areas. As you may know, the Obama Administration has imposed a defacto offshore drilling ban by putting potential resources off-limits to drilling and oil development. H.R. 2231 responds to the President’s policies that reduce domestic energy production by requiring that the Administration implement a new five-year leasing plan in areas containing the most promising oil and natural gas resources. Twitter Predicts the Stock Market…in ADVANCE?

Issues:

In case you are wondering why the government is so interested in your data, this information might provide some insight.

An algorithm was developed by social scientist Johan Bollen, where he measured what he called “mood states” of Twitter users. Using Google, Bollen profiled what he called Google-Profile of Mood States or GPOMS.

Over a period of 10 months, GPOMS studied 2.7M Twitter users and analyzed 9.7M tweets.
