“Treasure Life” in Tampa!
For more than 20 years, Eagle Forum’s Phyllis Schlafly has thrown the most fun, non-convention event at the Republican National Convention --- and this year is no exception as she teams up with Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in Tampa!
Themed “Treasure Life,” in part due to its venue at the fabulous Florida Aquarium, this year’s event is designed to do two things: 1) To celebrate, once again, the successful inclusion of a strong pro-life plank in the GOP Platform, and 2) To honor several outspoken heroes whose public works on pro-life issues deserve recognition from pro-life organizations and advocates.
Being held on Tuesday, August 28, the “Treasure Life” event will include a VIP reception, party and luncheon (sponsored by Republican National Coalition for Life, Family Research Council Action and Florida Family Action). Among those to be honored during the program portion of the event are Sen. Rick Santorum (PA), Gov. Rick Perry (TX), Cong. Michele Bachmann (MN) and Cong. Louie Gohmert (TX). Prior to the program, complimentary self-guided tours of the Aquarium’s exhibits will begin at 10:00 a.m., a buffet lunch will be served at 11:00 a.m., and a VIP reception will commence at noon. At 1:00 p.m., the program will begin to honor the four pro-life heroes chosen for 2012.
The event will conclude in plenty of time for attendees to return to their hotels to catch their GOP Express transportation for the Convention’s evening session. Alternately, Convention Delegates / Alternates / Guests may proceed to the nearby Forum Convention Center or may board any GOP Express bus at any convention hotel. If you will be in Tampa for the Republican National Convention, this is an event that is not-to-be-missed! It’s going to be a great time to celebrate and treasure life!
