Congressmen Brady, Smith, and Sessions Release Statements on Judge Kavanaugh's Appointment to Supreme Court

After President Trump nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh to serve as an Associate Justice on the United States Supreme Court, Congressmen Kevin Brady, Lamar Smith, and Pete Sessions released the following statements.

Rep. Kevin Brady: "President Trump made a very strong choice in Judge Brett Kavanaugh, another qualified conservative voice like Judge Gorsuch, for the Supreme Court. Judge Kavanaugh is a well-respected, pro-life justice that believes in the rule of law and upholding the constitution. President Trump has transformed our courts through his nominations. Rep. Lamar Smith: “With his pick of Judge Kavanaugh, President Trump named a very qualified and distinguished jurist. I am optimistic that as a Supreme Court Associate Justice Kavanaugh would not legislate from the bench, would adhere to the Constitution and not let his political views influence his legal decisions. I hope my colleagues in the Senate will give Judge Kavanaugh fair consideration and confirm him quickly.”
