Rep. Arrington Commemorates Anniversary of Fall of Afghanistan

Tuesday, Representative Jodey Arrington (TX-19) issued the following statement regarding the failed American withdrawal from Afghanistan and the 2-year anniversary of the fall of Kabul.

“Two years ago today, President Biden’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan devolved into an international embarrassment, a tragic loss of American soldiers, and a geopolitical catastrophe that emboldened our adversaries such as Russia, China, and Iran.

Nearly 20 years of American military service and sacrifice were undone in a matter of days as President Biden ignored the advice of top military officials, causing serious damage to America’s credibility and the needless loss of 13 American heroes.

House Republicans, led by my fellow Texan Michael McCaul, have been conducting aggressive oversight of this global embarrassment and won’t rest until we have answers and accountability.”
