Senator Cornyn Calls for Special Counsel to Oversee Clinton Email Investigation

Issues: 

Today I sent a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch requesting that she appoint a special counsel to oversee the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server for official business while in office. Under Department of Justice regulations, the Attorney General has broad discretion to appoint a special counsel where circumstances warrant the appointment. US House passes ban on states’ requiring GMO labeling

The US House of Representatives passed a major bill that, if passed by the Senate and signed into law, would pre-empt States from enacting labeling laws relating to genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Another key provision is that any GMO food crop would have to be pre-approved by the FDA, in a fashion akin to how the FDA handles drug safety. Last week's Iran rally on the Capitol Lawn showed how passionate Americans are about protecting our country. As the keynote speakers, Ted Cruz and Donald Trump gave great speeches explaining exactly why this deal is so bad for America, and I even ran into Glenn Beck. That is why we must oppose the Iran deal. This deal only emboldens our enemies at the expense of our friends and our own national security. Today, marks the 14th anniversary of September 11th, 2001. Three thousand people were killed as terrorists tried to tear our country apart. America learned that day just how resilient she was. Georgia Farmer Honors ‘American Sniper’ Chris Kyle

Issues: 

A Georgia corn farmer created an artistic tribute to “American sniper” Chris Kyle out of a seven acre maize field.

Remembering Peter Hannaford: Reagan Adviser, Accomplished Author and Friend

They don’t come any better than Peter Hannaford.

This past week the Republican Party lost one of its giants. Peter Hannaford, a man whose long list of accomplishments included serving as a senior adviser to Ronald Reagan both in Sacramento and in Washington, has passed away.
