History in the Making for the Republican Party of Texas

Issues:

Republican Party of Texas - After receiving the great news that our Republican statewide candidates split or won the Hispanic American and Asian American vote this year, we have good news to report regarding our engagement efforts in the African American community. Historically, the African American vote leans heavily towards the Democrat side, and while that statement is still true today,

Obama and the 0.1 Percent

Barack Obama vowed to be for the little man, Mr. Main Street. Too bad the little man doesn’t throw $35,000 a plate fundraisers. And that is why the Average Joe suffers under Barack Obama.

When it comes to wealth inequality in the United States, it looks like 1929. That’s because in the late 1920s, the top 10 percent of Americans controlled 84 percent of the country’s wealth. Read more about Obama and the 0.1 Percent

Terrorist Poaching

Issues:

The call of the wild from mammoth African elephants and rhinos has grown meek and blissfully silent.

The culprit: outlaw terrorists who are tracking and hunting down these massive creatures to fund their filthy, lucre terrorist enterprises. Our enemy is sophisticated and well-funded, but their weapons, surveillance equipment and training, food, lodging, and travel cost a lot of money. Read more about Terrorist Poaching

Documentary Photographer and Political Activist - Sonja H. Harris

Issues:

Photography has always fascinated me and has been my life’s passion. Maybe it’s because growing up I observed my father always being accompanied by his camera. It gave him such pleasure seeing and sharing the people and places that he photographed; I just imagined that one day I would also be a photographer. House Passes Bill to Usher in New Era of EPA Transparency

The House of Representatives today approved the Secret Science Reform Act of 2014 (H.R. 4012). The legislation requires the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to base its regulations on data that is public.

Costly environmental regulations should only be based upon data that is available to independent scientists and the public. However, the EPA does not adhere to this practice. Nearly every major air quality regulation from this administration has been justified by data that has been kept secret. This bill requires the EPA to base its decisions on information to which all scientists have access. This will promote sound science and confidence in the EPA decision making process. This bill ensures the transparency and accountability that the American people want and deserve. Read more about House Passes Bill to Usher in New Era of EPA Transparency

More Than 100 Texas Business Owners Urge Republicans in Congress to Pass Immigration Reform Now

Houston, Texas — Today several conservative and business leaders in Texas called on the Texas delegation to work toward passing meaningful immigration reform in Congress as soon as possible. Participating in today’s event were Norman Adams, Texans for Sensible Immigration Policy, Pat Kiley, CEO of Kiley Advisors and former Director of Associated General Contractors, Charles Foster of Foster law firm and Greater Houston Partnership, Darlene East, President of Holes Inc., Kevin Carroll, Gringos Mexican Kitchen franchisee, and Alan Nash attorney retired from Mitchell Energy (Republican Delegate).

"We need Congressional legislation to fix our broken immigration system. An executive order will likely address less than 20% of undocumented immigrants. We need a modern immigration system that drives our economy rather than ignores it.”

Congressman Poe Condemns Deadly Attack in Jerusalem

Issues:

The attacks Tuesday morning that killed three Americans and a Briton while they were worshiping in a Jerusalem synagogue are acts of vicious cowardice. The subsequent celebration of the attacks over loudspeakers in the Palestinian-controlled Gaza Strip is a sign that terrorism is not just a problem of a couple of lone rats but is supported by an entire infrastructure in Palestine that has close ties to the senior Palestinian leadership. We must recognize evil for what it is and counter it with swift justice. Read more about Congressman Poe Condemns Deadly Attack in Jerusalem

Immigration Bolsters American Freedom

Issues:

There is much to agree with in Richard Samuelson’s essay. My disagreement arises from three main sources. First, Samuelson undervalues how important relatively freer immigration is for maintaining American values and institutions. Second, his view of the country’s past assimilation of immigrants is too rosy. Third, his pessimism concerning the assimilation of current immigrants is largely unfounded.
