Issues: 

Republican Party of Texas - The third quarterly meeting of the State Republican Executive Committee was held on Saturday, September 13th at RPT headquarters in Austin. This was the first full meeting of the SREC since members were elected at the state convention in June. Committees usually meet on the Friday before the SREC meeting, however, committee members were due to be appointed on Saturday so they held unofficial meetings on Friday in order to start discussing the business they intend on pursuing before the next SREC meeting. Mike Turner Statement on Obama’s Remarks at UN General Assembly

I was very pleased to hear President Obama’s strong condemnation of Russian aggression in Ukraine at the UN General Assembly today.

As Putin continues to pursue an expansionist and dangerously adventuresome worldview, these remarks come at a critical moment.

Obama Salutes Marines with a Coffee Cup

As President Obama climbed down from Marine One after landing in New York for the United Nations General Assembly yesterday, he did the military salute with what appears to be a paper coffee cup in his hand. Footage was captured and posted to Instagram by none other than the White House itself.

The caption read:

Gov. Perry To Deliver Keynote For Energy And Climate Policy Summit In Houston

Texas Governor Rick Perry will deliver the keynote speech for the Energy and Climate Policy Summit being held Thursday and Friday in Houston. The "At the Crossroads" summit is a unique gathering of experts in the area of energy production and climate change. The purpose of the event it so demonstrate the technological advances that have maximized energy production while greatly reducing negative impacts on the environment. Democrats demoralize women for 2014 vote

The Democrats new battle cry: We need women!

“We do better when we field the whole team. When women succeed, America succeeds,” Obama said at an annual forum sponsored by the Democratic National Committee.

U.S. Launches Airstrikes Against the Islamic State

Initial U.S. airstrikes have been conducted with coalition partners in Syria against the Islamic State and groups with ties to Al Qaeda.

Our first thought should be the safety and success of all our men and women in uniform now engaged in Iraq and Syria. In the coming days, I will closely monitor the progress of our coalition efforts with our allies. I also stand ready to return to Washington to continue a healthy debate of these issues.
