Houston Chronicle Editor Tim Fleck Attacks Texas Congressman Stockman after Stockman Calls for Investigation into Obama's White House Scandals

You know a conservative leader is doing the right thing when the liberal media attacks him/her. Well, Texas Congressman Steve Stockman is certainly doing the right thing because he has the liberal media attacking him on a daily basis. The next attack is expected to come from Tim Fleck of the Houston Chronicle. Fleck is a liberal editor who used to work for the Houston Press. Fleck takes his bias up a notch above most liberal media though because Fleck, on top of just writing negative articles about Stockman, has also tried to sue Congressman Stockman in the past and has even been accused of breaking into Stockman's home. Apparently, Fleck is not happy about the most recent press release from Congressman Stockman. (See press release below after Stockman's statement regarding Fleck.)

UK Visits US Gun Passion

Not long ago, I was approached by a man and woman from the UK who wanted some training and the chance to shoot guns. They were in the United States on vacation and one of the items on their vacation list was to find a certified instructor and have the once in a lifetime chance to “experience what it’s like to be American for a few hours with the legal right to shoot rifles and guns.” Read more about UK Visits US Gun Passion

Jay Carney Explains How Food is Produced

Issues:

Speaking about the importance of the SNAP program:

“SNAP is the most effective way to combat hunger and food insecurity, particularly as food banks are telling us that they are already struggling to meet the needs in their communities.”

Hey, Texas! Let's Scare up Some Liberty!

Issues:

Since yesterday was Halloween and you still may be in a 'scary' mood, I thought I would share something else that some folks find scary; liberty. Yep, you heard it here. Liberty is scary, to some folks, not me.

I know you've heard about my own political background; not being involved beyond election day by casting a vote and then going home and praying that the person I voted for won. A pretty sad existence, if you ask me. Now, I'm a fully involved voting citizen; building relationships with my representatives and trying my best to educate those around me.

The Race for Texas Attorney General - Barry Smitherman's Record

AG Candidate Barry SmithermanNote: The sixth paragraph of this article as been updated to correct an error. The original article stated Smitherman had received an "A" rating from the NRA. It is, in fact, an "A+" rating. The author apologizes for underestating the commissioner's oustanding record on the 2nd Amendment.

Earlier this week we looked at the legislative record of State Representative Dan Branch and found a surprising record where he offered an amendment to a bill that would have expanded third trimester abortion rights in Texas. This illustrates why a candidate's record is important. Opponents of Smitherman like to point out that he does not have a legislative voting record. I think that is a pretty weak argument. Records are important, but you don't have to be a legislator to have a record. Berry Smitherman has a strong and easy-to-find record of public service to the people of Texas. Texas Attorney General’s Office Secures Conviction, Prison Term in Madison County Human Trafficking Case

Issues:

MADISONVILLE – A Madison County jury sentenced defendant Jennifer Nicole Kelly, 33, of Madisonville, to prison for operating a human trafficking and prostitution ring in Madisonville.

In April, the defendant was indicted for trafficking of persons under the age of 18 and compelling prostitution of a child, both first-degree felonies.

NSA and the Snoop Spy Caucus

“The administration puts forward a false choice between the liberties we cherish and the security we provide. No more illegal wiretapping of citizens, no more ignoring the law when it is convenient – that is not who we are. That is not what is necessary to defeat the terrorists. We will again set an example for the world that the law is not subject to the whims of stubborn rulers and that justice is not arbitrary. This administration acts like violating civil liberties is the way to enhance our own security. It is not.”

Those were the words of Senator Barack Obama in 2007.

That was then. This is now. Read more about NSA and the Snoop Spy Caucus

Issues:

Former Texas Railroad Commissioner Victor Carrillo threw his endorsement to Adryana Boyne in the Republican race for State Representative for HD 102.

“Adryana is a strong conservative voice and she will help maintain our strong Republican majority in the Texas House. She is a tireless worker and will be a valuable addition to the Texas Legislature. I am pleased to enthusiastically endorse her campaign, said Commissioner Carrillo!”

Alamo Will Not Go Under UN Control

AUSTIN — Despite spectacular and erroneous reports to the contrary, the Alamo is not being turned over to the United Nations — or anyone else for that matter.

Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson today attempted once again to let Texans know that if the Alamo and the other Spanish missions in San Antonio are added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, the Alamo will remain entirely under the control of the state of Texas

Don’t Let Democrats Pack the D.C. Circuit

It is one of the most important battles raging in Washington, a fight that will have far-reaching consequences for everything from health care and the regulatory state to gun rights and the war on terrorism. Yet most Americans have heard nothing about it.

I’m talking about Democratic efforts to pack the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.

America has 13 different federal appellate courts, but the D.C. Circuit stands out as the most powerful, especially on regulatory and constitutional matters. No other appellate court wields so much influence over hot-button national issues. Read more about Don’t Let Democrats Pack the D.C. Circuit
