How the Permian Basin Won World War II

During World War II, the Permian Basin supplied over a quarter of the high-octane aviation fuel that kept American planes in the sky and allowed for an Allied victory.

As a fighter pilot, I thought about fuel every second of every mission that I flew. I am so proud of the role that the Permian Basin played in winning WWII through our oil and gas production, bombardier training at Midland Army Airfield, and more.

It was an honor to share my perspective on the importance of the Permian Basin and how it remains a key tool of our National Security today. Special thanks to Joshua Skinner of CBS7 News and Chevron for telling this wonderful story.
