Stop the Forced Depression

THIS IS A PLEA TO GOVERNOR ABBOTT AND EVERY COUNTY COMMISSIONER AND MAYOR IN TEXAS.

President Trump IS RIGHT!  “WE CANNOT LET THE CURE BE WORSE THAN THE PROBLEM ITSELF.”

The county commissioners' and mayors' blanket “stay at home orders” are killing businesses and resulting in unnecessary layoffs of millions of workers in our restaurant, hotel, hospitality, and manufacturing industries. I am so blessed because insurance agents are considered “essential.” Construction, our predominant group of clients, is also considered essential! 

America is risking the collapse of our economy over a virus that has yet to kill more people per day in the US than the common flu!

Texas state, county and city officials should not shut down businesses in counties where less than 1% of the population has been diagnosed with COVID-19.  Governor Abbott, please listen!

Of course sick people should stay home, everyone should wash their hands, and the government should continue to work with the healthcare industry to increase and improve testing and treatment.

However, businesses, not the government, should have the discretion to keep their doors open and get back to work. Texas businesses and jobs for hard working Texans are essential.

Please be sensible and stop this forced depression! We are causing permanent damage to our economy and risking the future livelihood of thousands of businesses and millions of workers.
