Senator Cornyn Grills HHS Secretary Over Lack of Obamacare Contingency Plan

"These hearings are absolutely no use to us if the witnesses refuse to answer straightforward questions...And to deny us a straightforward answer to straightforward questions, that's just unacceptable."

Issues:

During a Senate Finance Committee hearing today, Secretary of Health and Human Services Sylvia Burwell repeatedly refused to answer my questions about the Obama Administration’s response if the Supreme Court determines subsidies for insurance purchased through a federal exchange are illegal in the King v. Burwell case later this year.

Video of the exchange can be found here, and excerpts from the exchange are below. Read more about Senator Cornyn Grills HHS Secretary Over Lack of Obamacare Contingency Plan

January 2015 Republican Party of Texas Chairman’s Update

Of particular significance to the Texas delegation was a resolution that we sponsored asking that the Committee on Convention Arrangements ensure that there is a live microphone in each delegation during the 2016 convention.

Issues:

Republican Party of Texas - The start of a new year is time for planning. This was the case with the RNC as it held its first meeting of the year in San Diego. National Committeeman Dr. Robin Armstrong, National Committeewoman Toni Anne Dashiell, and I all attended the multi-day meeting at which the future of the party was discussed. Sen. Cruz Introduces Obamacare Repeal Bill

Issues:

In November voters all across the country spoke loud and clear that Congress must do everything we can to repeal Obamacare. The results of this disastrous law speak for themselves: millions of Americans out of work or unable to find full-time work. Premiums going through the roof while median incomes have fallen. Millions who have lost both their doctors and the plans they liked, contrary to the President's promises. Read more about Sen. Cruz Introduces Obamacare Repeal Bill

Issues:

ISIS terrorists have released a video reportedly showing Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh being burned alive in a cage. The barbarity and brutality of ISIS jihadists knows no bounds. PLANNED PARENTHOOD and the KILLING FIELDS in San Antonio

Issues:

The Khmer Rouge regime is known to have killed an estimated 2.5 million Cambodians from 1975 to 1979. Legal abortions in the US since Roe v. Wade from 1973 until 2011 have been estimated at 53 million with almost a million in 2012 and 1.2 million in 2013. The immoral never rest, and unfortunately, San Antonio has not been overlooked by the butchers of our most vulnerable: the unborn. President Obama’s Big Government Budget

"We do not need to fuel Washington’s spending problem."

Issues:

On Monday, President Obama released his budget blueprint for a big government that fails to address our spending-driven debt crisis. The President’s budget never balances and will continue to encourage more government spending at a time when our national debt is at $18 trillion and skyrocketing. What does that mean for individuals and families across Texas? Right now, each American citizen owes roughly $56,500 to pay down our national debt. Pete Sessions Responds to President Obama’s Budget Proposal

Issues:

Today President Obama demonstrated once again that the Democratic Party is committed to higher taxes, more spending, and piling additional debt onto the backs of America’s children. The President’s budget violates the law by blowing through spending caps, raises spending by $74 billion annually, proposes higher taxes on American families and businesses, and never balances – not this year, not in ten years,

Has President Obama Launched a Political Campaign Against Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu?

"This administration’s relentless harassment of Israel is utterly incomprehensible."
