Letter to Texas Republican Delegates

Issues:

Dear Republican Party of Texas Delegate,

Thank you for agreeing to serve as a delegate to the 2014 RPT Convention.

During the convention delegates will be asked to ratify our Republican Party of Texas Platform. The Platform is serious business because it is an outline for how we expect our leaders to govern.

Our nation’s immigration policy is broken. Being a border state, Texans see this failure everyday. Read more about Letter to Texas Republican Delegates

Sen. Cruz: Court Unanimously Rejects Obama Administration's Arguments for Increased Power for the 10th Time

Issues:

Today’s Supreme Court ruling in Bond v. United States is an important victory for federalism. For the tenth time since January 2012, the Court unanimously rejected the Obama Administration’s argument for increased federal power.

The Court held that the statute implementing the Chemical Weapons Convention treaty cannot be interpreted to cover local criminal conduct, a power which our

Neugebauer Speaks Out Against Burdensome EPA Regulations

As a senior member of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, I released the following statement in response to the Obama Administration’s proposal to drastically increase regulations on carbon emissions.

This aggressive overreach by the Obama Administration will increase the costs of electricity bills for American families, hurt our domestic manufacturing industry, and slow our economic growth. The Clean Air Act was designed to protect our environment, not destroy jobs. This rule will cause coal power plants across the nation to close, leading to fewer jobs and less reliable power for our businesses and families. We can’t afford to burden our economy with more costly, unrealistic, and unnecessary regulations. Read more about Neugebauer Speaks Out Against Burdensome EPA Regulations

The House of Representatives has passed the Intelligence Authorization Act (H.R. 4681) to ensure that our intelligence community has the tools it needs to protect Americans from terrorist attacks both here at home and abroad. Legislation Approved in the House this week

On Thursday, I voted in favor of H.R. 4660, the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act of 2015. This bill provides funding for vital law enforcement, national security, and public safety efforts while promoting initiatives dedicated to economic growth, innovation, and job creation. H.R. 4660 prioritizes funding for the most critical programs, but also eliminates waste and duplication to reduce spending by nearly $400 million from FY 2014 levels.

On Friday, the House passed H.R. 4681, the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Years 2014 and 2015, to authorize the national security functions performed by the U.S. Intelligence Community.

Veteran's Open House

The more we hear about the VA’s treatment of veterans, the worse it gets. Dozens of VA facilities nationwide are being investigated for cooking the books, ensuring that the long wait times that sick veterans have to endure are hidden from the public. These secret waiting lists are fueled by the greed of those at the highest level of the VA. Shorter wait times means bonuses for VA employees, so in order to get these bonuses, VA employees have allegedly been ordered to hide the truth at the expensive of our veterans.
