An Army Reserve friend of mine, Christine Clow, was supposed to be back in southeast Texas Friday after visiting her boyfriend in Missouri. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Clow ended up getting stuck in Missouri. Clow getting stuck in Missouri ended up being what saved a little girl’s life from a drunken kidnapper Friday morning at Clear Folk Lake, Knob Knoster, MO. HOUSTON,Texas—The U.S. House of Representatives passed a series of bills on Tuesday attacking various aspects of our national problem of human trafficking. Texas is currently one of the nation’s hubs for human trafficking and Congressman Ted Poe (R-TX) took the lead on one of the bills passed. The NSA is out of control. It seizes massive amounts of data on Americans without their consent, without their knowledge. This action violates the Fourth Amendment and the PATRIOT Act.
The USA Freedom Act is supposed to halt these literally unwarranted intrusions. The bill, in which I am a cosponsor, passed the Judiciary Committee unanimously.
I voted in favor of H.R. 4031, the Department of Veterans Affairs Management Accountability Act of 2014. The House passed the bill by a vote of 390-33.

It’s hard to believe that the Run Off Election is almost here and some sort of normalcy will return to those of us who participate in the political arena. The next BIG step will be the November General Election when we can optimistically crush our opponents, the Democrats, our real enemy.
