Dr. Hotze, President of Conservative Republicans of Texas, Supports the Texas Solution!

Issues:

More than 10,000 delegates to the 2012 Republican Party of Texas Convention overwhelmingly adopted an immigration plank called The Texas Solution. I support The Texas Solution because the conservative Hispanic population needs to know that we’re the party of family values and economic success and that we’re the party that best represents their views.

Over the last eighteen years, we’ve maintained a Republican majority in our Texas Legislature.

Living Memorial Day Every Day

As we roll into Memorial Day 2014, every American should indeed pause to give earnest thanks to the American service men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Those men and women were sons and daughters, dads and moms, brothers and sisters, and each left a hole in a family that never got to live out the big and small life events with the ones who were lost. It is important to recognize the ultimate sacrifice made by those soldiers rippled through families,

Red Sonja’s Endorsements For Non Judicial Races (Bexar County) Run Off Election May 27, 2014

Issues:

It’s hard to believe that the Run Off Election is almost here and some sort of normalcy will return to those of us who participate in the political arena. The next BIG step will be the November General Election when we can optimistically crush our opponents, the Democrats, our real enemy. Right Place Right Time: Texas Soldier Saves Kidnapped Girl in Missouri

Issues:

An Army Reserve friend of mine, Christine Clow, was supposed to be back in southeast Texas Friday after visiting her boyfriend in Missouri. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Clow ended up getting stuck in Missouri. Clow getting stuck in Missouri ended up being what saved a little girl’s life from a drunken kidnapper Friday morning at Clear Folk Lake, Knob Knoster, MO. I think that this is a little more than just right place right time. God works in mysterious ways for sure! Read more about Right Place Right Time: Texas Soldier Saves Kidnapped Girl in Missouri

Liberty has a New Address in Austin

Last week in Austin the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) celebrated the groundbreaking on its new headquarters building that will sit at 901 Congress Avenue, a few short blocks (just over 300 yards) from the Texas Capitol.

Their slogan “Liberty has a New Address,” is perfect. Read more about Liberty has a New Address in Austin

IRS Backs Down on Proposed Rule

I released the following statement after the IRS announced it will scrap a proposed rule defining political activities of social welfare groups.

I’m glad the IRS has withdrawn their proposed rule and delayed a final decision pending further review, but that doesn’t mean we’ll stop closely monitoring their operations to ensure future IRS proposals are nonpartisan and fair. The IRS betrayed the trust of millions of Americans

A Breath of Fresh Air at Haverford College, in the Year of the “I am offended so you can’t talk” Suppression of Commencement Speakers

At Haverford College’s May 18th graduation this year, replacement commencement speaker William G. Bowen used the opportunity to lambast those in the student body who successfully protested the originally invited speaker, Robert Birgeneau. Bowen, the former president of Princeton, called the Haverford protesters’ approach “arrogant” and “immature.” His remarks drew a standing ovation. US House Declares War on Human Trafficking

HOUSTON,Texas—The U.S. House of Representatives passed a series of bills on Tuesday attacking various aspects of our national problem of human trafficking. Texas is currently one of the nation’s hubs for human trafficking and Congressman Ted Poe (R-TX) took the lead on one of the bills passed. Breitbart Texas reached out to Congressmen Ted Poe, John Culberson (R-TX) and Blake Farenthold (R-TX) for their thoughts on the passage of these bills. The National Security Agency And Snooping On America

Issues:

The NSA is out of control. It seizes massive amounts of data on Americans without their consent, without their knowledge. This action violates the Fourth Amendment and the PATRIOT Act.

The USA Freedom Act is supposed to halt these literally unwarranted intrusions. The bill, in which I am a cosponsor, passed the Judiciary Committee unanimously.

Congressman Smith Supports VA Bill

I voted in favor of H.R. 4031, the Department of Veterans Affairs Management Accountability Act of 2014. The House passed the bill by a vote of 390-33.

The bill gives the Secretary of Veterans Affairs authority to remove an employee of the Senior Executive Service if the Secretary determines that the employee’s performance deserves removal. Read more about Congressman Smith Supports VA Bill
