The Latest on Ukraine

The situation in Ukraine is worsening. On Friday, Vladimir Putin recalled the Russian ambassador to NATO, and Russia’s military chief warned that Russian troops could move further into Ukraine in just 12 hours. The world cannot sit idly by and allow another country to be invaded. Read more about The Latest on Ukraine

The small, predominantly Christian community of Lumberton, TX is once again about to hit the national scene. The Lumberton Independent School has suspended a transvestite/transgender teacher. There will be a School Board meeting this Thursday night at 7pm where it is expected there will be a large number of outspoken people form both sides of the issue who will speak during the public comment time.  State Board of Education member David Bradley had this to say regarding the upcoming school board decision, “He does not have to be fired as substitutes are not under contract. Let us begin with Mozilla’s CEO Brendan Eich who contributed 1000 dollars to Campaign Prop 8, a state constitutional ban

Oil and gas production will reduce the United States' dependence on imports, and we may be become an energy exporter, something that will strengthen our international status, which is at a low point under the present Administration's policy.

Natural Resources Hearing on ESA Reform

The law is in need of reform—in the 40 years since it was enacted, only 2% of species have ever recovered to the point where they can be removed from the list. The ESA also imposes costly federal requirements on landowners, when there are more practical, voluntary conservation solutions that would work just as well to preserve species. Cornyn Introduces Bill To Protect Taxpayers From IRS Targeting

I issued the following statement after introducing The Eliminating Improper & Abusive IRS Audits Act of 2014 to provide further accountability and greater taxpayer protection against IRS abuse:

The Amazing Koch Brothers

If someone would tell you a decade ago that two big Republican donors who support same-sex marriage and non-interventionist foreign policy would become the most vilified Republicans by the left, I would say, really? I remember a discussion with a young Democrat in 2008 who said if the Republicans would simply leave the social issues alone and concentrate on budget restraints, he might consider being a Republican. Guess what,
