City of Lumberton, TX Bans Republican Women of Hardin County from Meeting in Community Center

Issues:

The City of Lumberton, TX and City Manager Steve Clark have kicked out the Hardin County Republican Women's group from using the Lumberton "Pete Trest" Community Center.

The Community Center is a city public building that was built for the community to use. There is of course a rental fee that must be paid to use the building to cover building expenses and to pay for a city employee to be at the events at the community center. Update: After Muslim Burqa Lesson, Student Pulled From Lumberton School - Not CSCOPE

Issues:

There have been lots of updates after I posted this article this morning: Lumberton ISD (Texas) Students Told to Wear Muslim Burqas in CSCOPE High School Lesson.

Here are the updates:

Although Texas CSCOPE has had major issues because of Islam lessons in schools, this Muslim Burqa lesson was NOT part of CSCOPE, and it a lesson that Lumberton ISD has been doing for years. Read more about Update: After Muslim Burqa Lesson, Student Pulled From Lumberton School - Not CSCOPE

Ted Poe Speaks Against White House Pay Raise

Issues:

Sequestration takes effect in 4 days. Set up under the Budget Control Act, which I voted against, sequestration was the White House’s idea to help urge the “Super Committee” to agree on massive spending cuts. That failed. Since then, the House has passed two different plans (H.R. 5652 and H.R. 6684) to replace the President’s sequester with responsible spending cuts. But, the Senate refused to consider either bill. Now, thousands of Americans face furlough and pink slips.

Meanwhile, aware of this impending deadline, the Administration somehow thought that an Executive Order giving a pay raise to Members of Congress, the Vice President, the Cabinet, White House staff and federal employees was appropriate. It is not.

Why Texas Needs A Susana Martinez To Keep It RED

Issues:

When Texas voted in this last election, no one did an exit poll; perhaps because it would have shown that Latinos voted for the Democrats in larger numbers than we Republicans wanted to acknowledge. The fear that Texas is turning purple is of great concern for Republicans and should be the epiphany that forces the GOP to look fear in the face: those irreversible changing demographics in Texas. It is no longer sufficient to run a candidate with a Latino surname and think

Lumberton ISD (Texas) Students Told to Wear Muslim Burqas in CSCOPE High School Lesson

Issues:

Wow, I don’t even know what to say. I just read a news story by John Griffing on WND.com about my very own Hometown High School in Lumberton, TX (Lumberton ISD) making students wear Muslim Burqas as part of a history class this past week. (Picture displayed is from a Lumberton student taken when they had to wear Burqas in class.)

Update: After Muslim Burqa Lesson, Student Pulled From Lumberton School - minor students cried today after being forced to sign incident report about what happened without parent notified or allowed to be at the meeting, parents furious - the school says this lesson seems to be a Lumberton lesson and not CSCOPE lesson, but CSCOPE Experts say it was CSCOPE influenced - Senator Dan Patrick Investigating

Under the Gloom, Lies a Boom

Issues:

There is much to fear about in our future with rising debt, unemployment not dipping below 7.7% in years, and many jobs disappearing as the participation rate of employment is down to 1980’s levels. To top it off, the GDP contracted with record number of Americans on food stamps, unemployment, and disability insurance. America is retreating from the world as we lead, and we are seeing the Middle East in disarray and more

Central Planners Cause Chaos; Free People Create Order

Issues:

Earlier this month I was asked by a group in Cleveland, Texas, to give an overview of recent U.S. economic history for a beginner audience. This was the result.

Rep. Farenthold Applauds $1.3 Billion Energy Investment In Matagorda County

Issues:

The global manufacturing company Tenaris has invested $1.3 billion to build a steel pipe plant in Matagorda County. Upon completion in 2016, the plant will employ 600 people with an annual salary of approximately $66,000. The Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) contributed $6 million to close the deal with Tenaris.

This is great news for the people of Matagorda County, and for Texas as a whole. We continue to be the best

Day of Resistance - Show Your Support for the 2nd Amendment

Issues:

Day of Resistance

"On January 16, 2013, President Barack Obama issued 23 executive actions against your 2nd amendment Constitutional right to bear arms. He did this without the consent of Congress which in itself, violates the foundation of the Constitution and the co-equal branches of government. In response to these unconstitutional actions by the President, on .223, February 23, 2013 the American people will stand together in defiance to protect the right that protects ALL of our rights, the 2nd Amendment! They will organize locally so that they may band together neighbor to neighbor and reassert their community's right to determine their own destiny!"

Senator Nichols files "Merry Christmas Bill" to Protect Texas Schools and Students

Issues:

My very own Texas State Senator Robert Nichols has filed a "Merry Christmas Bill" that will protect schools and students from getting sued by left wing groups that want to force people to do things like call a Christmas tree a holiday tree because they think saying Christmas Tree in a school is offensive. Hey, I think liberals are offensive, but we can't just kick them out of schools can we? Liberals just need to back off of their attacks against Christianity, schools and students. Thank you Senator Nichols for introducing this bill in the Texas Senate! Texas State Representative Dwayne Bohac originally filed the "Merry Christmas Bill" in the Texas House of Representatives. This bill is expected to pass with overwhelming support. Read more about Senator Nichols files "Merry Christmas Bill" to Protect Texas Schools and Students
