Issues:

So the Democrats are for peace and the Republicans are for war, huh? Then why is the Democrats’ leading candidate a consistent hawk? Who's the real Hillary Clinton? My guest today, Kelley Vlahos, says she's the "military-industrial candidate." Read more about Hillary Clinton: The Military-Industrial Candidate

Texas House Democrat's Bill Could Impact Hiring of Illegal Immigrants

Issues:

Texas State Representative Senfronia Thompson (D-Houston) filed a bill in the Texas House of Representatives to increase fines for employers who misclassify workers as independent contractors when they should rightfully be classified as employees. This technique is often used by companies to work illegal immigrants as independent contractors avoiding the I-9 employment documentation process. One Step Closer to Justice for Fort Hood Victims

Issues:

I spoke on the Senate floor today on a provision in the FY2015 Defense Authorization bill making victims of the November 2009 terrorist attack at Fort Hood eligible to receive the Purple Heart.

“Shortly after the attack, it became clear that Hasan was motivated by the same poisonous ideology that spurred the attacks on September the 11th, 2001.

Chairman Poe Statement On The Senate Democrat CIA Report

Issues:

Every day the intelligence community goes to work to protect Americans. They risk their lives on covert battlefields all around the world to prevent another attack on America. Thanks in part to their efforts, there has not been another attack on U.S. soil since 9/11. Today our enemies are as strong as they have ever been, and we continue to rely on the CIA and the intelligence community to keep us safe. Unfortunately, in their final days in power, Senate Democrats are suddenly releasing a report that criticizes the CIA and focuses exclusively on Bush-era interrogation methods six years after President Bush left office.

A Global Carbon Tax?

Issues:

Will the United Nations wield its unproven claim that greenhouse gas emissions cause climate change to require each of its 193 member nations to measure and report GHG emissions, a prerequisite for a global carbon tax? Does it really matter whether next year’s meeting in Paris, France, produces a treaty or a “soft law” document or both?

Todd Stern, head of the American delegation at the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change meeting in Lima, Peru, says the U.S. is “perfectly happy to have an assessment process”

The Senate has sent a united signal that we denounce Hamas' barbaric tactics and unequivocally support Israel's right to self-defense. Even though Republicans and Democrats may be divided on many

Senator Cornyn: Democrats Should Thank, Not Vilify, Intelligence Community

Editor's Note: U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statement after Democrats on the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence released their report on enhanced interrogation techniques employed by the nation’s intelligence community:

This report is troubling for a variety of reasons, most of which are not found in its pages. Enhanced interrogation techniques employed by members of our intelligence community saved American lives, and Senate Democrats should thank these brave men and women who worked to protect us – not vilify them. Congressman Turner on Gruber: This was an Active Case of Deception

Issues:

Editor's note: Gretchen Carlson speaks to Congressman Turner who was in the Oversight and Government Reform hearing today. Gruber dodged all kinds of questions, including whether Obamacare is actually a tax and how crafty he said the administration was to sell it to the American people.
