A Republican Agenda

Issues:

Send a message to Mitch McConnell:

Your Majority Leadership should be guaranteed. Here's how. Republicans lead thus far in Colorado mail-in ballots. However this state scares me most because the rule is an invitation to the massive fraud I fear. I still count Colorado as a bonus if we win it.

But Montana, South Dakota and West Virginia are essentially in the bag. And it looks like Republicans will take a seat in Iowa and Arkansas. That's five pickups and eventually Louisiana should make six.

Election Day is Here!

Issues:

Republican Party of Texas - Today is the day we have been working towards for more than 18 months. Thousands of volunteers have helped us contact millions of voters this year to get out more Republicans than ever before and prove to the Democrats that this is our state.

A much higher percentage of our voter base turned out in early voting than the Dems but the game isn’t over yet. We still need as many Republicans as possible to get out and vote today if we are going to keep up this momentum and win across the state. Read more about Election Day is Here!

Greg Abbott gubernatorial candidate declares he will ‘roll to victory’!

Issues:

Alamo Café in San Antonio was the scene for a standing room only audience filled with Greg Abbott fans on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Abbott made no bones about saying he was ‘rolling to victory’ in his wheelchair after referencing some of his opponent’s distasteful political TV ads.

His entourage included US Senator John Cornyn who is also seeking reelection and former Texas Secretary of State Hope Andrade. They both stated valid reasons to vote for Abbott in his run for governor.

You Are Invited to Join the RPT and Our Statewide Candidates for an Election Night Victory Party with Musical Guest Pat Green

Republican Party of Texas - Over the past year and a half, the Republican Party of Texas has opened nearly 10 fully staffed Victory offices across the entire state in an effort to prove to Obama's operatives that no amount of D.C. money can turn Texas blue. Over this time, we have recruited thousands of volunteers to contact millions of voters and polls are showing, yet again, that Texans want conservative Republicans to lead our state. Accountability Needed for HHS Response to Ebola Crisis

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, sent a letter to the Department of Health and Human Services Friday, joined by all 24 Texas House Republicans expressing concern about how existing public health resources were used in response to the outbreak of Ebola in the United States.

“In fact, of the $10.8 billion the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates it spent in FY 2014, almost $1.4 billion went to

Congressman Smith Smith Statement on United Nations’ Climate Change Report

I released the following statement in response to today’s climate change report released by the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

While I appreciate efforts to better understand the complex science of our ever-changing planet, the U.N. report says nothing new. Similar to previous reports, the latest findings appear more political than scientific. People are tired of the re-packaged rhetoric. It’s time to stop fear mongering and focus on an honest dialogue about real options. It also appears that the U.N. is once more

State Department Considering Plan to Transport and Admit Ebola-infected non-U.S. citizens into US for Treatment

On Wednesday I learned that the U.S. Department of State is considering a plan to transport and admit Ebola-infected non-U.S. citizens into the United States for treatment. This plan calls for the Department of Homeland Security and the State Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs to allow non-U.S. citizens who are infected with Ebola to enter the United States even though under existing law non-U.S. citizens with communicable diseases of public health significance are not allowed to enter the country. The Administration has repeatedly refused to enforce

Webelos Citizen Badge

Issues:

On Wednesday afternoon I had the pleasure of meeting with young Cub and Boy Scouts from the 32nd Congressional District to discuss the importance of being active citizens and young leaders in the community. These young scouts met with me to earn their Citizens Badge in order to complete the requirements for their Webelos Badge. As a proud Eagle Scout, I always enjoy meeting with scouts, serving as a mentor throughout their scouting journey, and discussing the importance of service, character, and courage.
