Obama "Doubling Down" on Governing by Fiat

Recent comments from President Obama and White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest indicate that the White House will continue to bypass Congress and address the humanitarian crisis on our southern border using executive actions:

During a week when the Supreme Court unanimously rebuked the President’s overreach, you would think he would show some humility and work with Congress on a solution to the crisis on the border, one that he created. Sadly, he appears to be doubling down on his efforts to govern by fiat. Read more about Obama "Doubling Down" on Governing by Fiat

Issues:

Last Monday, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee held a hearing to question Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Commissioner John Koskinen on the agency losing two years’ worth of former IRS official Lois Lerner’s e-mails central to the Congressional investigation into the IRS' political targeting. As part of its investigation the Oversight Committee issued subpoenas for several IRS documents,

Politico Piles On Davis Campaign Woes

Issues:

Democrat gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis’ campaign failures appear to be obvious to everyone but Wendy Davis. Even left of center media outlets like Politico are reporting her fall from Democrat rock star to political failure.

“She’s down in the polls by double digits,” Politico’s Katie Glueck reported. “And national Democrats have all but written off her race.” While they tried to couch their comments in the kindest possible

Vietnam Foolishness Redux

For many decades, The United States has been by far the most assertive and powerful force for freedom and against oppression on planet earth. That requires a cultural ethic of decency and a dynamic free economy that can produce the wealth and technology to assert strength against oppressive and inhumane forces.

That America established both that benevolent intervention on behalf of others and the power to assert was

This Week in U.S. House Legislation

The House passed three pieces of legislation this week - H.R. 6, The Domestic Prosperity and Global Freedom Act H.R. 3301, the, North American Energy Infrastructure Act and Lowering Gasoline Prices to Fuel an America that Works Act – in an effort to unleash American energy in order to drive down gas prices and make our country less reliant on foreign sources of energy. Supreme Court Rules that President Obama violated the U.S. Constitution

I issued the following statement following the Supreme Court’s ruling that President Obama violated the U.S. Constitution by appointing individuals to the National Labor Relations Board without the Senate’s approval.

Today the Supreme Court rightly reined in President Obama's abuse of executive authority. The Court affirmed that the President's appointments to the National Labor Relations Board were unprecedented and unconstitutional. Are you sick and tired of Congress avoiding immigration reform?

When I get a phone call from a media source saying they want to interview me, I know they have “program time” to fill. And as a participant, I am the “filler.” I never turn them down, but I am seldom optimistic about the results.

CNN called me last week and said they wanted me to talk about immigration. I am amazed how many people watched it. Best part, no negatives...so far!

Please watch it. Read more about Are you sick and tired of Congress avoiding immigration reform?

Walker is Innocent

Democrats are giddy over the unsealing of “secret” documents that charge Scott Walker with an involvement in a criminal scheme, but all this showed either the media bias or simply their ignorance. First thing to understand, two judges have ordered the investigation to be shut down and there is no evidence that there was a “criminal enterprise” conducted by Governor Walker.
