I applaud the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology's passage of H.R. 4012, the Secret Science Reform Act of 2014. The Secret Science Reform Act requires the EPA to base its regulations on science that is publicly available and sufficient for independent analysis. I am an original cosponsor of the bill and issued the following statement after the Committee vote:
For far too long, the EPA has used secret data to justify billions of dollars in runaway regulations that harm economic growth and opportunity in America. The American people deserve access to this data that is often funded by taxpayer dollars and used to rationalize more Washington overregulation and overreach.
