SNL Takes on the Obama Administration's Handling of the Ebola Outbreak

Issues:

In case you missed it, Saturday Night Live opened with a skit this past weekend poking fun of the lack of competence the Obama Administration has shown in its handling of the ebola outbreak. In the skit, Taran Killam plays Obama's recently-appointed Ebola czar, Ron Klain. Read more about SNL Takes on the Obama Administration's Handling of the Ebola Outbreak

Good News for Farmers in West Texas

Issues:

It looks like farmers this spring won’t be penalized for the crippling drought we’ve had in West Texas these past few years. After repeatedly claiming they could not follow the Farm Bill’s strict implementation schedule, USDA announced Tuesday that they will now update the Actual Production History (APH) exclusions for spring 2015. Congressman Smith Issues Subpoena to Uncover White House’s Role in Faulty HealthCare.gov Security

This week, I issued a subpoena to former U.S. Chief Technology Officer Todd Park, a top Assistant to President Obama during the launch of Healthcare.gov last November. The subpoena compels Mr. Park’s appearance before the Subcommittee on Oversight to answer questions regarding his role in developing and evaluating the operations and security of Healthcare.gov. Congressman Ted Poe Statement On Federal Court Ruling On IRS Targeting Case

I issued the following statement on a federal judge’s decision to dismiss all charges in a lawsuit brought by True the Vote, a voter integrity non-profit organization that was aggressively targeted by the IRS.

American Citizens have a right to publicly disagree with government without the threat of being targeted by those in positions of power.

The Democrats' Idiocy

Issues:

This election is seeing Democrats at their craziest and worst. In Montana's Senate race, Amanda Curtis became the accidental candidate when the original candidate pulled out after being guilty of plagiarizing his thesis. Amanda Curtis is what one National Review pundit classified as an “erratic Communist sympathizer” and loves to post youtube videos of herself ranting about whatever. She has mocked women who believe in owning a gun for self-defense and rants against family values

Just Five Days Left to Early Vote!

Issues:

Republican Party of Texas - The last week to vote early in Texas begins today and some people think we have already won the election. While the polls might show that Greg Abbott has a generous lead, the only poll that matters is on Election Day. And what's not making news is that many of our judges and legislators are in danger of losing to liberal candidates who support President Obama's left wing agenda. In fact, President Obama best summed up what's at stake when he announced, "I'm not on the ballot this fall, but make no mistake, these policies are on the ballot." Wendy Davis Dragging Down Other Dems

Issues:

Democrat Gubernatorial Candidate Wendy Davis appears to be dragging down other candidates on the Democrat ticket. As Davis’ desperate attack ads and other political missteps continue to pile up many Democrats are privately admitting her campaign has been a huge failure.

For Davis, success is all but out of reach according to Karen Tumulty in a Washington Post article. She wrote that there was a moment where Davis

Barack Obama Should Thank North Dakota and Texas

Barack Obama should thank two states, North Dakota and Texas, for creating many of the jobs during his administration. Considering that Obama has done what he could to end much of the fossil fuels industry, it is ironic that during his administration, Obama presided over the rebirth of American energy and saw America become a leading energy producer. Senator Cornyn Invites VA Secretary to South Texas to Meet with Valley Veterans

Issues:

U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) today wrote to Secretary of Veterans Affairs (VA) Robert McDonald to invite him to visit the Rio Grande Valley to hear firsthand from South Texas veterans about the need for a full-service inpatient health care facility in the region:

I have introduced legislation to direct the VA Secretary to put a full-service inpatient health care facility in the South Texas VA Health Care Center in Harlingen, Texas. This bill would require the VA Secretary to include in the VA’s annual Strategic Capital Investment Planning process the resources necessary to expand the existing facility to provide

Congressman Poe Statement On Mek In Iraq

Issues:
Tags:

I am very concerned that we are not doing enough to get the MEK out of Iraq. The MEK are Iranians stuck in a camp in Iraq because they oppose the Supreme Leader of Iran. The Iraqi government has capitulated time and again to the Supreme Leader by allowing armed militants to attack the MEK camp, even though the MEK voluntarily gave up their weapons and have no way to defend themselves.
