The Fiscal Impact of Immigration

Issues:

The fiscal impact of immigration — how immigrants and their descendants affect government budgets — is a widely debated and contentious issue. Economists overwhelmingly accept the economic gains of immigration, but are less certain about immigrants’ impact on government budgets. Contention over this issue is fueled by the numerous methodologies and complexity of analysis that obscure the fiscal costs of immigration. Read more about The Fiscal Impact of Immigration

The Death of James Foley

Last night, ISIS militants released a video to the world showing the barbaric execution of American journalist James Foley. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. This gang of extremists shows no sign of slowing down their murderous rampage. The goal of ISIS is to grow their terrorist army and indiscriminately kill everyone else in sight. Negotiating with them is not an option. In just a few short months they have grown from a band of thugs to an army tens of thousands strong.

Republican Party of Texas: We Stand With Rick Perry

Issues:

Republican Party of Texas: Following his booking Tuesday, Governor Perry called the prosecution a "chilling restraint on the right to free speech," and he vowed to prevail in the case, saying, "This indictment is fundamentally a political act that seeks to achieve at the courthouse what could not be achieved at the ballot box." Gubernatorial Nominee Greg Abbott at Cordillera Ranch

Issues:

Cordillera Ranch was the scene for a fundraiser for Republican gubernatorial nominee Greg Abbott on August 12th. Abbott spoke to a room full of supporters eager to hear his message. His speech was short and to the point. He needs our support if we want to continue to have the success that Texas has and is enjoying. He reminded us that Texas is #1 in job creation, in energy production, in farms, and when he is elected, he will work to make Texas #1 in education. He reiterated that Obama has abandoned securing our border and that Texas will do what the federal government has failed to do…secure the border. Town Hall Listening Sessions

Issues:

I want to extend a big thank you to all of you who attended my Town Hall Listening Sessions across Texas’ 19th District these past few weeks. We heard some great ideas about how to best reform social security to make sure it’s still around for our children and grandchildren, and ways we can ensure better care for our veterans. I’m glad we all agree on the pressing need to secure our southern border to protect our communities and our legal immigration process.

Five People who Dems say can replace Hillary in 2016 race

I don’t know what excuse Hillary Clinton will use to bug out of the presidential consideration, but she will eventually do it. It’s because you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

Hillary Clinton can’t campaign. Add to this the fact that she has done nothing, and you have a recipe for permanent retirement. Read more about Five People who Dems say can replace Hillary in 2016 race

Leaders and Losers Showcased in Ferguson, Missouri

The volatile situation in Missouri has showcased the profound difference between the character traits of leaders and losers. This week, we have seen:

1) The reckless abandon of criminals who used the situation as an excuse to engage in theft, vandalism, violence, and behave like animals.

2) The racists and race baiters, like Al Sharpton, who rush to the scene and exploit the situation in order to further their own personal racist agenda. Read more about Leaders and Losers Showcased in Ferguson, Missouri

Is John Culberson A Jeffersonian-Republican...Or Not?

"The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie down the second with chains of the constitution so the second will not become legalized versions of the first."-Thomas Jefferson.

I share that with you because the person I'm writing about espouses on his website to BE a Jeffersonian-Republican. This is a direct quote from his website,
