Pete Sessions Statement on July Jobs Report

Issues:

Today I released the following statement regarding the July unemployment report:

While it is always welcome news when additional Americans are able to find work, all Americans deserve the opportunity to find good-paying, full-time jobs. The Obama Administration has repeatedly promised a big economic recovery, but it has taken six years to see any real signs of reliable

If you can’t beat ‘em, tax ‘em

Barack Obama will make green energy successful, no matter what it costs…the American taxpayer.

Perhaps the WTO will bail us out, as this video suggests: Read more about If you can’t beat ‘em, tax ‘em

Strategic Technology Development Can Help Secure U.S. Border

Issues:

The House Subcommittee on Research and Technology and the House Subcommittee on Oversight today held a joint hearing on the technologies needed to better secure our nation’s borders.

Technology is a key component to securing our 2,000 mile Southern border. Customs and Border Protection and National Guard troops cannot be everywhere. Sensors deployed along the border can detect and track the “coyotes” who smuggle children—as well as illegal drugs

Tony Geldens: Dutch Resistance Fighter, American Patriot

Issues:

Tony Geldens was a Dutch boy when on May 10, 1940; the Nazis invaded and occupied the Netherlands. Persecution of the Jews began immediately by the occupiers. Jews were required to wear yellow stars of David on their clothing. Jews were shot, beat, and sent to concentration camps.

Tony and a few of his Boy Scout friends joined the Dutch resistance. Tony began a 4-year career of being the Robin Hood of the Netherlands. He would steal supplies and food from the Nazis and give them to local Jews and citizens, much to the risk of his own safety.

DACA Did Not Cause the Surge in Unaccompanied Children

In June, 2012 the Obama Administration announced that it had authored a memo deferring the deportation of unauthorized immigrant childhood arrivals in the United States, a program known as deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA). The memo directed then Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to practice prosecutorial discretion toward a small number of unauthorized immigrants who fulfilled

Our Veterans Deserve a VA That Works for Them

I was deeply troubled and frustrated by the lack of quality care and accountability at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Our nation’s veterans, who have sacrificed so much in defense of our freedom, deserve a VA that works for them, and provides the best quality care. To make sure we meet the needs of our heroes, I was proud to support today’s bill, Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act of 2014, that brings some much-needed reforms to the VA healthcare system.

This bill improves access to care by allowing our veterans to seek private care if they do not live near a VA facility or cannot

Lawsuit Against Obama is More than an Empty Suit

This lawsuit against President Obama is more than an empty suit: the American people have a long list of grievances that merit the legal action being pursued by the House of Representatives. In addition to changing the terms of Obamacare, the president has ignored, undermined, and gone around Congress to create new immigration laws. This has created the current crisis on our border and significantly weakened our nation’s security.

Sen. Cruz: Israel’s Iron Dome Protects our Ally, Protects Us

In the last several weeks over 2,500 rockets rained down on the nation of Israel. 80 percent of the population has had to flee what they're doing and run to bomb shelters to hide: moms, dads, and children. When the alarm goes off, they have sometimes 10, 15 seconds to get to a bomb shelter. Imagine if the same thing were happening here in America.

Even as the fighting in Gaza grabs the headlines, we have to keep our eyes on the far more serious danger of a nuclear Iran. The threat of a nuclear-armed Iran would make Hamas and their rockets seem like child's play and our support

35 year USPS employee called a “Terrorist”

If you work for a government entity, you are being paid to look the other way. Don’t dare expose what’s really happening in a government entity, or you will be railroaded.

When a person is hired by a government entity, the government expects more loyalty than La Cosa Nostra…the Mafia. Read more about 35 year USPS employee called a “Terrorist”

Poe Statement On NFL’S “Punishment” For RB Ray Rice

Recently, a video emerged of Ray Rice, a Baltimore Ravens’ running back, dragging his unconscious then-fiancée out of an elevator after allegedly punching her in the face several times. He was charged with third-degree aggravated assault; however, the prosecutors later dropped the charge after a plea deal was reached. The NFL’s response? A pathetic two game suspension. The league has harsher punishments for “offenses” such as eating unapproved foods or taking fertility drugs without prior approval.
