We Should Defund Obamacare and Fund Military Pensions

Issues:

Last week, I asked for unanimous consent to pass one amendment to prohibit the omnibus spending bill from funding Obamacare, then a second amendment to defund Obamacare and use the funds to restore cuts to military pensions.

Joe Pool, Jr. Fails in Attempt to Win Election in the Courtroom Rather than the Ballot Box

Issues:

Joe Pool JrWriter's Note: The following article about Texas Supreme Court challenger Joe Pool, Jr's. failed attempt to remove Supreme Court Justice Jeff Brown from the Republican Primary ballot was originally posted on Breitbart's Big Government site and is a collaborative effort by Brandon Darby and this writer. It was an honor to have my first article on Breitbart be co-authored with Brandon.

Sex Trafficking at the Super Bowl

The United States is gearing up for the next Super Bowl. Unfortunately, so are human sex traffickers. Super Bowl Sunday is not just the sporting event of the year; it has also become America's traveling human trafficking magnet. Exploiters roam the streets looking for prey.

Last year, while the two teams battled it out on the field, a young trafficked girl prayed for her life while sold for sex.

TexasGOPVote Blogger Endorsements: Ken Paxton shores up support in key counties

Issues:

Ken Paxton’s campaign for Attorney General is building much like Ted Cruz’s successful bid for the U.S. Senate. With Rep. Dan Branch being the candidate to beat- with heavy establishment backing and a campaign war chest that will enable him to blanket the state with mass media marketing, similar to David Dewhurst’s expensive media-based Senate campaign- Ken Paxton and Barry Smitherman have been vying for the tea party support which got Cruz into the runoff and then catapulted him to victory. WOAI TOWN HALL on HB2 with Senator Donna Campbell

Issues:

Before I go into detail about the Town Hall meeting that took place in San Antonio concerning abortion rights, I want to stress just how important and how divisive this subject has become in America. Even to the point that Christians want to shy away from this subject. Denying that this problem exists will not help us win any battles either for our children or for our country. The Left is relentless and will stop at absolutely nothing to advance their agenda.

Sinatra Was Right, Fairy Tales Do Come True and the Extreme Environmentalists Are the Central Characters

Issues:

I am tired of all of the warning labels.

The latest one comes from California (I am not surprised. Are you?) where a local group is trying to get the California government to require notices to be posted on gas pumps that filling your car can cause … wait for it … yes, global warming.

Sipping Martinis & Plotting Politics Shows How Out of Touch Obama, Senate Democrats Have Become

So what's the President's big idea for helping the economy getting back on track? Well, two nights ago, according to published news reports, he was drinking martinis and plotting his 2014 political strategy with his fellow Democrat party members.

So rather than talking to Republicans in bipartisan discussion about how we could come together on real solutions to the problems that face our economy and people out of work, the President instead has defaulted in favor of poll-tested ideas and political gimmicks leading into the run-up to the 2014 election. Now, sipping

Congressman Neugebauer Votes to Increase Transparency and Accountability in Obamacare

I voted to pass H.R. 3362, the Exchange Information Disclosure Act, which requires the Administration to provide accurate data on the number of Americans who have enrolled on healthcare.gov.

It’s been more than three months since healthcare.gov was launched, and we still don’t have hard numbers on how many Americans are enrolled. Consumers need transparency and accountability from their government. Read more about Congressman Neugebauer Votes to Increase Transparency and Accountability in Obamacare

Vote To Cut Spending

Under President Obama, the national debt has increased 50% to $6 trillion. We simply cannot sustain that kind of excessive spending. Yesterday’s vote alters the culture of spending in Washington. For the first time in over six decades, spending has now been cut four years in a row and takes spending down to a level below FY09. Congress is finally taking some necessary steps towards deficit reduction. Read more about Vote To Cut Spending

Obamacare: How it Affects a Single Mom

Tags:

Last week I got a call from a concerned father in Crosby, Texas. His daughter is a single working mom with 3 young children ages 3 through 13. She recently received bad news from her health insurance provider. She and her children will be dropped from their current plan.

The new plan required under Obamacare had a 40 perecent more expensive premium. As a result, she and her children had to move out of their home and in with their father and mother.
