MLK, The Declaration and The America Dream

Today, as we all rightly honor the invaluable contributions Dr. Martin Luther King made to American culture and society, we should also ask ourselves, “What steps can America make today to further his beautiful and important dream that …”

“ …my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

Al-Qaida Still a Major Threat

As we begin 2014, it's worth reflecting on where we stand in our fight against al-Qaida and global terrorism.

Over the past year, in my role as chairman of the Terrorism Subcommittee of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I've held a multitude of hearings examining the threat from al-Qaida and its affiliates. Read more about Al-Qaida Still a Major Threat

Judiciary Committee Advances Bill to End Taxpayer Funded Abortions

Last week marked a victory for protecting the rights of the most innocent among us: the unborn.

The Judiciary Committee passed H.R. 7, the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act.” I am a cosponsor of this bill and also cosponsored this legislation in the last Congress. If passed by the whole House and Senate and then signed by the President, H.R. 7 will re-instate the provisions within the Hyde amendment, originally passed

Sex Trafficking at the Super Bowl

The United States is gearing up for the next Super Bowl. Unfortunately, so are human sex traffickers. Super Bowl Sunday is not just the sporting event of the year; it has also become America's traveling human trafficking magnet. Exploiters roam the streets looking for prey.

Last year, while the two teams battled it out on the field, a young trafficked girl prayed for her life while sold for sex.

WOAI TOWN HALL on HB2 with Senator Donna Campbell

Issues:

Before I go into detail about the Town Hall meeting that took place in San Antonio concerning abortion rights, I want to stress just how important and how divisive this subject has become in America. Even to the point that Christians want to shy away from this subject. Denying that this problem exists will not help us win any battles either for our children or for our country. The Left is relentless and will stop at absolutely nothing to advance their agenda.
