Sinatra Was Right, Fairy Tales Do Come True and the Extreme Environmentalists Are the Central Characters

Issues:

I am tired of all of the warning labels.

The latest one comes from California (I am not surprised. Are you?) where a local group is trying to get the California government to require notices to be posted on gas pumps that filling your car can cause … wait for it … yes, global warming.

Sipping Martinis & Plotting Politics Shows How Out of Touch Obama, Senate Democrats Have Become

So what's the President's big idea for helping the economy getting back on track? Well, two nights ago, according to published news reports, he was drinking martinis and plotting his 2014 political strategy with his fellow Democrat party members.

So rather than talking to Republicans in bipartisan discussion about how we could come together on real solutions to the problems that face our economy and people out of work, the President instead has defaulted in favor of poll-tested ideas and political gimmicks leading into the run-up to the 2014 election. Now, sipping

Congressman Neugebauer Votes to Increase Transparency and Accountability in Obamacare

I voted to pass H.R. 3362, the Exchange Information Disclosure Act, which requires the Administration to provide accurate data on the number of Americans who have enrolled on healthcare.gov.

It’s been more than three months since healthcare.gov was launched, and we still don’t have hard numbers on how many Americans are enrolled. Consumers need transparency and accountability from their government. Read more about Congressman Neugebauer Votes to Increase Transparency and Accountability in Obamacare

Vote To Cut Spending

Under President Obama, the national debt has increased 50% to $6 trillion. We simply cannot sustain that kind of excessive spending. Yesterday’s vote alters the culture of spending in Washington. For the first time in over six decades, spending has now been cut four years in a row and takes spending down to a level below FY09. Congress is finally taking some necessary steps towards deficit reduction. Read more about Vote To Cut Spending

Obamacare: How it Affects a Single Mom

Tags:

Last week I got a call from a concerned father in Crosby, Texas. His daughter is a single working mom with 3 young children ages 3 through 13. She recently received bad news from her health insurance provider. She and her children will be dropped from their current plan.

The new plan required under Obamacare had a 40 perecent more expensive premium. As a result, she and her children had to move out of their home and in with their father and mother.

Senate Candidate Steve Stockman Locks out Reporters, Other Candidates and Voters from Tea Party Meeting in Tarrant County

Issues:

Steve Stockman MeetingU.S. Senate Candidate Steve Stockman who currently serves as a Congressman in the 36th Congressional District of Texas appears to have an issue with freedom of the press and the First Amendment.  Stockman, who has been attempting to get an interview with this writer for the past couple of weeks, had a campaign event scheduled at the Northeast Tarrant County TEA Party on Monday night in Bedford, Texas.

As a political writer for TexasGOPVote, I decided to attend this meeting to learn more about Stockman and his campaign.  When I arrived at the event, I was surprised to learn that I would not be allowed to attend the event.

The Continuing Resolution Vote Moves Us Closer to Massive $1 Trillion Omnibus Bill

The President is talking about income inequality in America, but there is no greater gap than between the politicians in Washington who spend with abandon and the American people who are struggling to make ends meet and are forced to pay for it all.

Today’s vote on the Continuing Resolution moves us one step closer to the 1,500-page, $1 trillion omnibus bill that does nothing to restore economic growth, stop Obamacare, or fix our spending problem.

Thank YOU Liberal News Media!

Issues:

I never thought I would say this, but today…. it gives me great pleasure to say thank you to the liberal news media for your intensely biased relentless attacks on Chris Christie.

Yes, you have been extremely negligent in your journalistic responsibilities regarding your coverage of Benghazi, the IRS scandals, etc, however, just this once, I am actually relieved that your biased focus and scrutiny on conservatives actually backfired. Targeted Worker Misclassification Law Takes Effect in Texas

Issues:

Construction companies across Texas that work on public projects are on notice now that the targeted worker misclassification crackdown passed by the legislature in 2013 has taken effect.

HB 2015 “Worker Classification” was signed into law on June 14, 2013 and became effective on January 1, 2014.  This law is considered by many to be a good first step in the fight against the problem that is especially

Bringing Certainty to Tax Policy

Recently, I’ve been getting questions about expiring tax laws and what that means for local businesses. One deduction in particular helps businesses invest in new equipment and increase jobs and economic growth. The Section 179 deduction allows business owners to purchase new equipment and deduct the entire depreciation amount in a single year. For instance, the lifetime depreciation of a tractor could be deducted entirely during the year of its purchase,
